Is anyone voting for Donald Trump?

If I voted for Trump, Hillary, Johnson etc. independently I wouldn't change the outcome of the election.

Our electoral college's whole purpose is to ensure that.

And no, I'm not saying I'm voting for Trump, because I don't believe at all in his policies and wouldn't cast a vote for him.

I'm using my useless vote for a third-party just so that what little worth it has represents an interest outside of the D and R candidates.

Congratulations, your contribution to this race is that you are doing what you can to make sure that the person who least represents your views is elected president.

My mother is a big Trump supporter who gets angry when my brother and I tell her that we've voting for Hilldog.

She also doesn't believe in evolution and dislikes/is afraid of Arabs, so yeah.

I might vote for Trump just for the lols. Plus, I think Wisconsin is still in play, despite normally going Dem, so my vote could matter. It would put me into an extreme minority of people who supported Obama then flopped over to Trump. I actually support Hillary, but I just want to see the world burn.

Wow.

Pop in here, say it, don't justify your opinion or offer any reasoning whatsoever, and be defensive / cry foul when people legitimately question why you're voting for a fascist.

Like clockwork.

Haha, yeah, like clockwork, except that bit that hasn't happened yet. Just like clocks.

This is already happening. Again, without any sort of legitimate publicity, even local voters will have a hard time electing parties they're not familiar with.

You can't say with a straight face that the majority of current voters aren't influenced by exposure and media bombardment. Trump is a perfect example here

More from the ridiculous 'we mustn't factcheck/must consider crazy dialog along side sane dialog' the media has going for it. They want a horse race for ratings, and as a result, aren't doing much actual journalism. Still, anything about the platforms of the minor parties is easy to locate. As it turns out, their platforms aren't that desirable.

Here you go:

https://www.lp.org/candidates/elected-officials
http://www.gp.org/officeholders

And many independent representatives. Oh, and if it helps, both of the LP candidates were two-term governors.

A few town councils and such, but seemingly little to nothing more then that. Not that impressive, and certaintly no sign they can handle state or national level politics.

And nether ran as a Lib at those times, instead, they were GOP. Looks more like they jumped ship because they had no chance of a GOP nomination.

This is honestly a really sad outlook on representative politics. Do you think limiting public discourse is in the best interest for a democratic republic? Honest question

Ignoring the fact that any party's best opening for exposure is through airtime and blaming the parties themselves because they aren't receiving said airtime... this isn't doing much for your argument

Nope, but does that mean you have to treat those with no chance of getting elected or with no signs of what it takes to compete on a national or state level alongside those who have a history of doing this? What should be the lower limit for being in major debates, 10%? 5%? 1%? Or maybe anyone who's gotten on enough state ballots to actually stand a chance at winning should be allowed?

Not to mention the bigger issue of the electoral college itself. Unless a candidate wins a majority of it, the house just picks someone. So Hillary could get 49.9%, Trump 10% and Johnson the rest, and Trump (or another GOP member) would still get the office.

I think 15% is a perfectly valid threshold for getting into a debate.

You say that as if you won't burn along with it.

He is a junior, he has to take care when putting down those kinds of opinions. They often lead to banning by the sheer nature of them.

See, I was cracking jokes about a Trump presidency about a year ago before it became a realistic scenario. This kind of stuff isn't funny anymore.

A sincere fuck you man. If you're gonna vote for anyone just to see what happens you're just the worst. Preferably you forget to vote.

What a fucking stupid thing to say/consider.

The thing is that I think its increasingly funnier the more realistic it becomes. I mean, what the hell has he tapped into? It's not just the racism... it feels bigger. Do you remember how George Bush appealed to people despite the fact he was pretty dumb? I think there's a huge 'stupid' contingency. The people aren't necessarily stupid, but they don't want to critically think about this election. For some reason, ignorance is a currency, and, at least in that respect, Trump is the richest man out there, doling it out free for anyone who will listen.

When he gets caught in a lie, his popularity soars. Ad hominem attacks are a logical fallacy? Then throw out logic. There is something dangerous going on, and I don't know whether to laugh or cry

It is pretty simple Trump or Clinton will be the next potus, if Trump wins your vote for a third party is an effective vote for him cause you did not vote for the one person who could stop him.
That literally isn't how a vote is processed or weighed in our system. /literally/.

-I don't change the outcome of the election with my vote
-By voting for a third party not Trump or Hillary is winning a vote.
-A vote for a third party isn't support for Trump
-I hold no responsibility for voting whoever you think my vote belongs to
-You're worried about Hillary winning when it's her election to lose, not Trumps to win.
- I hold no guilt or responsibility if Hillary loses. Sorry to upset yall.

Good. Now because of the terrorist attack in NYC and Minnesota, three of my friends are voting Trump. I cannot love the world we live in more. /s

When your choices are between the former secretary of state who was in the room when they killed Bin Laden, and a real estate developer/reality TV host, the choice is obvious. Oh? The secretary of state in this example is a woman? I'm not sure she can keep us safe then... Better vote for the dick.

Thank you for your concern. There is a lot of hatred toward the Trump voter, and despite hating the man myself, I'm more interested in this anger that he has generated. Fascinating stuff.

He's a bigoted, racist, lying piece of shit who panders to bigoted, racist pieces of shit. It's no mystery why he is hated, nor why his supporters are hated for supporting these things.

It's about as "fascinating" as the hate for the KKK.

So... you're response is to go and vote for the man enabling racism/fascism/sexism... hate in general, just to see what would happen if he was President. Despite him having no real qualifications for the job or able to give anything close to a coherent sentence on any real policy.

I can't really figure this out. Sorry but this logic is insane.

I mean, if you're that interested in it you could just watch the situation in the Philippines rather than try to fuck over minorities in your own country for "teh lolz"

Please don't vote something for silly reasons. Lots of people in the UK voted for something for silly reasons, and look where that got us.

It's waaay more interesting than the KKK. Nobody will come out and openly support them (and rightfully so), but Trump openly lies, changes his position daily, and people eat it up. WTF is going on with this nation?

There's no such thing as an "ironic" vote for Trump. Your vote for Trump would be equal to David Duke's vote for Trump, but at least for his vote he'd be getting the vision of America he wants.

I will admit, its actually kind of hilarious that you don't even realize you are part of the problem.

It's only interesting if you have never opened a history book.

To those of us who know history, know the consequences of electing people like Trump in positions of power, it's straight terrifying.

Could you do us all a favor and lock yourself in a closet on election day?

Don't laugh, don't cry, just vote to stop him...

Come on.

Look at all this hate I inspired in one page, just because I said that I would consider voting for him. I am sorry for that. You know what, I hate the guy. I've been pro-Hillary since she first announced that she would run. I will be voting for Hillary.

You guys know that this hatred that you just spouted toward me would never affect me nor anyone else if they were actually considering Trump, right? The responses that some of you gave would only entrench the Trump voter's views. I think the anti-Trump response needs to be reconsidered. Ranking me out and telling me to fuck off isn't going to solve any real problems.

Something can be interesting but that doesn't make it good or beneficial. I really cannot fathom how you go from "this is an interesting phenomenon" and claiming you hate Trump to "Yeah, I should vote for him because this is so interesting."

I have a major interest in infectious disease but that doesn't mean I want to be infected with some of my favorite viruses and bacteria; Ebola, HIV, TB, Yersinia pestis, Dengue... the microbiology of infectious diseases is the one of the coolest and most interesting things in the world to me. That doesn't mean I want myself, or anyone else, to be infected with them.

Oh fuck off with that, you said you were doing it for the lol.

You intentionally trolled to get a response.

You sound like a baby that wants attention, not somebody who's voting for Trump.

"I'm voting for Trump."
*waits for quotes and attention*
"Oh woe is me! Trump is a big bad guy who doesn't use logic. Somebody tell me I'm wrong, because I can't tell if it's raining or there's tears in my eyes."

Edit: The truth comes out, hold that L loud and proud.

Wow, this is just ridiculous. You're the first member going into my ignore list. It's clear, from bolded, that you're incapable of formulating cohesive and worthwhile thoughts.

Edit: So I guess you're playing around and not actually voting for him? What's the point?
My main issue is not "people voting for Trump", but stupid people voting for him for the lolz and pretending not to care about the consequences. That shit is gross.

Quoting thus again, go in tell me again about your feigned outrage at the response you received. What an ass.

Lmao your high and mighty horse might topple down with how much shif you're spewing.

I know people who are voting for trump and I know I won't change their minds because they are thinking entirely on a fiscal level, and this includes minorities.

You coming in saying you're going to vote for him for the lulz is a huge fucking difference because at least with my friends I know there's a genuine opinion they'd back up, with what you posted you were doing it solely to fuck over people to see what would happen.

And you're wondering why you got the response you did?
