We're not going to protest him out of office when he's sitting at 35-40%, and even craven-ass republicans in congress would be rushing to kick him out of office if he was sitting in the low single digits of approval. (And no, I don't think mass protests by "liberals" would convince trump supporters to stop supporting him.)

25th amendment remedies are probably a bit preferable over a military coup if we need, like, an immediate solution to a deranged president.

Yeah, if Trump completely loses it, Pence shouldn't have that much trouble getting enough cabinet members to support a removal, if for no other reason than pure self-preservation. Mathis is a patriot, Sessions and Tillerson are already on bad terms with him, the Transportation Secretary is the turtle's wife, etc. There are few there that are truly in the tank for Trump.
