Is Diablo 2 worth going back to atm?

maybe check how it looks at endgame, coz early on ofc classes play slower/different vs how they can perform later when they got proper build/endgame items even melee class like barb can be very enjoyable

I've leveled 3 characters into the end game in Diablo 2 Resurected, it still feels clunky now after playing Diablo 4

I picked it up on sale last weekend and got my poorly skill optimized martial arts assassin into Act 4 at level 25. I completely forgot about the once per difficulty re-skill and burned it early on at like level 10 and that slowed me down a bit. When I re-spec in nightmare things will pick up more but my gear is also mostly shit but finding the upgrades and inching towards more power is still super fun. I only had to run countess twice to get my Stealth runes so that is the best thing I have. I do have one decent rare claw that I found as well. The building charges and unleashing them is a lot of fun.

For me one of the most frustrating things about it, and maybe because I'm a filthy casual playing with a controller now is that it is so easy to get hung up on the environment and in the tight corridors trying to get through doors. I constantly have my map overlay up as well.

The game does show it's age but from the tons of hours I played in high school both original and LoD, it's still pretty excellent too.

They did a really good job with the graphical update. It runs worse on my computer than Diablo 4 beta did but my PC is old as shit (i5 2500k o/c'd to 4.4, GTX 960 2 GB, 24 GB PC 1333)

Really enjoying my time with an old glowed-up friend
The map is my biggest annoyance so far, I know its old and by design but we have come a long way in terms of map traversal, I mean I am playing Death Stranding again alongside this and thats its own little game but very intuitive compared to Diablo 2 where you can't even see the whole Map even after you've uncovered it

Guess its ur subjective feelin then, coz to me vs about 20h of testing over 2 beta weekends, d4 fellt much clunkier, aka it fellt like i got 500ms ping on every action, and no, my net got small ping, otherwise i wouldnt be playing d2r so much ;D

It's a pretty damn good game and I've played a lot of D2 and D2R but it's showing its age now, I'm not going back.

Can't wait for D4, I really enjoyed the beta

I got D2R on PC and PS4 and I noticed the same thing on controller, constantly getting stuck everywhere. Part of the problem is the graphics have a lot of noise and its not as clear as to what objects require walking around as it should be. The controller works ok considering how heavily D2 is a KBM game, but overall I find it more frustrating that its worth. Also I prefer the old graphics because its easier to see whats going on, I wish they had done the legacy mode justice and maybe even made it widescreen. The new graphics definitely look fantastic but are less functional, it seems harder to target specific enemies, harder to distinguish a champion or unique monster, harder to read door openings on the map. Curses are way too glowy and quickly turn the screen to diarrhea.
