Is Eating Chicken Everyday Bad for Your Health?

Carrots are good for you. That does not mean you should be eating it every day, since you should be mixing your vegetables so that you can receive the nutrients that carrots do not supply and you don't overdose on what carrots do supply.

Lean chicken is good for you for what I've read. Every day? More than a palm's worth? Why? It's chicken, not water. There's a planet out there. Go eat it.

I cook 5 lbs every sunday and bag it and put it in the refrigerator. Then use it throughout the week over salads, or pastas or in a bun. Sometimes I'll chop it up real fine and throw it in a tortilla shell with some veggies and cheese.

It's one of the best meats at retaining it's juiciness. I find that beef and turkey get too dry when reheated and ham gets too salty.

One thing I learned is that cutting it into small cubes or slices and then pan-cooking it is a bad idea. It makes the chicken taste 'rubbery'.

well, some crazy people say that eating chicken can turn you gay

hey I love chicken (eat it at least 3 times per week) and respect whatever sexual oriantation you migth have and I also know some cool bolivian people, just wanted to make sure because gaf is a bit touchy about this topic :S

I'm eating Chicken right now. Is a great food and good for you. Of course eating the same thing every day causes problems, we are omnivorous.

Is like the articles about the person that drank a lot of Soda/Eat pizzas every day and died in 12 years. A decade is a lot of time, so it's dumb to think they eating that once a month or week will kill you.

Eating the same shit every day will make you sick.

Prove it. How will one meal a day, containing chicken, possibly make someone sick? Do you not cook? Do you not know how varied a dish with chicken can be?

If you can't see the difference between eating chicken (and there are 1 million ways to prepare chicken) once a day and eating nothing but Soda/Pizza for 12 years I dunno what to tell you.

People in Asia eat rice every day apparently and have some of the highest life expectancies.

Anecdotal evidence: I've eaten probably 100g+ of protein from chickens a day for the past 3 years. I'm in the best health of my life.

Chicken: It does a body good!
Chicken: They'rrrrrreee great!

I love chicken so much, I should be in advertisements and shit. "I'll do it for free, chicken!".

Well obviously I was talking about a diet solely consisting of same ingredients every single day.

I'm sure it's bad if you ate something like nerds candy everyday for every meal.

But chicken and all the varieties? No way.

I am flabbergasted by the amount of dudes in here that eat chicken everyday.

There was a time in my life where I was working a chicken farm once a month. Couldn't look at chicken or eggs for 4 years after. The most disgusting vile birds walking the earth.

I'd say there are many worse things than chicken to eat everyday.

well i guess it depends of how do you eat the chicken, I don't know much about nutrition and stuff but I suppose that eating to much fried chicken could harm your body as any other fried food out there

I once had a chicken and it was one of the most stinky creatures I had the chance to have, but does it taste good oh I also eat eggs every now and then, even more often than chicken

I can understand, but I'm not in the the same boat.

"Just eat in in moderation" is a way to try and sound smart while actually saying nothing of value. Everyone has different ideas as to what moderation is. But when people read the words "in moderation" they assume that whoever uses the words "in moderation" has the same definition of moderate as they do.

Erm, people say "in moderation" because dieting is not an exact science, it's impossible to know exactly what said person needs in their diet, especially over the internet with lack of in depth health info. All it means is avoiding extremes. As a rule of thumb a wide variety in diet is almost always preferable to eating the same things every day as it helps avoid nutrient/vitamin deficits, to not eat only chicken, to eat it in comparable amounts to other foods, to eat it in moderation, i.e. in this case probably less. Cool your jets, man, did moderation kill your dog or something?

Yep I consume a lot of chicken as well, but I also realise the road of homogenous diet might not be the longest.

yeah but I dunno my daily diet also consists of a lb of broccoli, ezekiel bread, sweet potatoes, greek yogurt, eggs and egg whites.

I'm pretty sure nutrition is covered.

Well yeah. Fried anything is not such a good idea.

There's an African food market around the corner from me that does a kilo of fresh chicken fillets for ÂŁ6.50

You'd better bet that I'm eating chicken everyday for that price

If you're gonna eat chicken all the time

learn how to fabricate a whole chicken.

It will save you money, you'll probably get more meat for your dollar as well. And use the bones to make chicken stock. The stock is useful in nearly every meal, and if you have leftovers you can make a fucking mean ass homemade chicken soup.

No berries, nuts, fruit? That sounds like a very limited diet. I'm sure you'll gain dat lean mass though.

"Avoid extremes" is just as vague. What is an extreme amount of chicken? What is a moderate amount of chicken?

I get it isn't an exact science, but how can you not realize how fucking meaningless those phrases are?

Why should he eat less chicken? Chicken once a day isn't extreme. Chicken is incredibly versatile as a meat.

They also rarely lived past 35-40.

Life expectency shot down after the rise of agriculture and only recently exceeded that of hunter gatherers according to more recent studies.

Depends on how you're preparing it. Baking, grilling, roasting, or properly frying it (in heat stable, saturated fats, no breading/flour), I don't see any harm.

Adding breading and flour, frying in vegetable oil, not very healthy. It doesn't seem like you're doing this though, so keep on eating that chicken. I eat chicken almost every day too for lunch, and a fattier meat for dinner.

Why if vegetable oil not good? I keep sing it pop up in threads and the reason is always different.

You do not list any fruits. Fruits are apart of the nutrition too :)

You're one of the cool fitness guys, hopefully I'm not offending you :(

Edit: I know "some" Fitness-GAF hates fruit due to the natural sugar :P

Its not like im eating chicken three times a day:

Breakfast: oatmeal, sliced banana, chopped pecans, and scoop of whey protein

After gym: shake-milk, scoop of whey protein, banana, strawberries, blueberries, basal leaves

Lunch: chicken breast, baby spinach, cherry tomatoes, sunflower seeds all mixed together. Also on the side I eat Greek Danon yogurt and kashi pumpkin flax granola bar.

Dinner: whatever mu mother cooks but she cooks healthy and makes a variety of vegetables.

Late night snack: ezikiel cinnamon raisen muffin with 1/3 less fat cream cheese and an apple.

My protein intake still sucks so that's why I bought egg whites and ill cook them and add it to my oatmeal.
