Is It Just Me Or Is Dead Rising 2 Getting Ignored?

Graphics look much better. Frame rate seems to chug a little bit more than DR1 but that could just be the stream.

Definitely some stream hits, on the whole it looks pretty indistinguishable, I'd say more fluid than DR1 in the animation blending but really just guessing. It looks good, plays like DR1, makes those PP sfx that make me wish the game was out already, etc. :lol

EDIT: Clearly AI pathfinding has taken a step forward though. That 3 person delivery would have been an arduous deathtrap normally...

I think the first Dead Rising got a lot of attention pre-release due to the fact that it was one of the first massive-zombie-crowd games. Those aren't really unique now.

I hope the Real Mega Buster is back.

I wonder if getting the 50 and 70K achievements unlock a Mega Buster and Protoman's buster? O:

Dress up like Mega Man and Protoman in co op.

I'm still pretty much looking forward to the game. Multiplayer looks fun. Plus the Co-op. The trailers just showing how you can kill zombies? That's exactly how they advertised the first one, weren't they? And for some reason the zombie/casino setting feels pretty fresh. Not a lot of movies with that combination, are they?

:lol Gears of War reference, in my Achievement list?

Also Z-Genocider 2: Kill harder. :lol One-upping Valve?

I really dislike the "kill with all (subject) weapons" and "eat all items/wear all items." I still haven't gotten the eat all the possible food items in DR1 because it drives me insane trying to keep track of that (along with the PP stickers).

what, that's easy O_o The food one is one of the easiest achievements in the game (especially with a video guide). That said, they aren't exactly thought provoking or original :S

I know. I'm just too lazy to go around and mix the food.

PP is terrible as while easy, it requires me going around the map. I don't like having to go around finding stickers/using a guide in sandbox games. I want to fuck around.

I'm still missing Transmissionary and that survivor that is with the photographer psycho as well.

But I'm like 80%-90% done with the achievements in the game, so I've probably played DR1 more than most 360 players. :lol

I know what you mean. I problably wouldn't have half of them if I didn't feel compelled to get them :) The harder ones are just too much work though, yeah.

Came in here to post this and say it looks really underwhelming.

Don't take this as a fanboy reaction but every bit of footage I've seen from the PS3 version (IGN preview included) looked really flat and technically flawed. Every bit of footage of the 360 version I've seen just pops and runs smoothly.

Thank god I have the option to choose...

I kinda feel sorry for those who don't. Blue Castle might still rectify this, but...

Yep, I agree with you. I’m glad I have a choice too, because I'm expecting Bayonetta levels of bad with the PS3 version....

But isnt this like 4-5th game of the MT Framework engine on PS3? And DMC4 and RE5 werent that bad either, as far as I heard.

Blue castle isn't using the MT Framework, the engine is limited to internal Capcom development.

DMC4 actually turned out BETTER on PS3 (framerate stays more solid).

As noted above, however, DR2 does not use MT Framework. :(

I'd say more fluid than DR1 in the animation blending but really just guessing.
Unfortunately DR2 seems to lack the object motion blur that is prevalent in MT Framework titles. That's a huge loss.

As an enormous fan of the first game I really hope this one isn't disappointing. I haven't been hypingmyself up too much so my expectations are pretty realistic. But if I do buy it, I'm gonna have to 1000/1000 it since I did the first one.

The image quality on DR1 is also amazingly clean. Guess it's 4xAA. You just don't see that anymore nowadays. :lol

Is Case Zero on 360 only? Seems a little short sighted.
Jep and Jep. :lol

I made some avatars, pick one if you want one.

Looks like you are not going to play it then.

So, you're saying Case Zero is not good?

I'm really interested because I don't have a 360 anymore and I want to play something on the level of DR1 again.....hopefully that's not a tall order. Glad there's a PC version too.

Oh let's not start this before the game is even out.

So what is going on? The original is still one of the best, most fun games I’ve played this gen......and the sequel looks even better!

Not only did it get ignored at E3, but is seems to be getting ignored here as well. If you ask me this is potential GOTY material! :D

I mean you can now combine items and it also has co-op! It's gonna be a blast and I for one can't wait for it! Who else is with me?

not on my side, DR2 and Other M are my most anticipated games of this year...also DR2: Case 0 in a few days :)

What comparisons? The only version I read about in E3 or Gamescom demos was the 350 version (which is normal) and all indicators are it runs like shit. : ( It's MS's last ditch effort to make me buy a 360 so I can play DR1

He is talking about a demo and Case Zero is not a demo dude. He made it pretty clear that he wants to try it out for free before getting it.

There's always trial version of Case Zero:lol

Yeah, you're right. I edited so as to keep my foot out of my mouth.

After launching two successful new IPs in Lost Planet and Dead Rising, instead of building on the IPs by following up with sequels which fans expected they decided to throw everything away and spit on the fanbase. Instead of a follow up to Lost Planet, they decided to make Space Monster Hunter. Instead of a follow up to Dead Rising, they decided to ship it off to Canada. I have no sympathy for Capcom if both IPs don't survive this generation.

To be fair, there is just wayyyy too much competition nowadays. Capcom was lucky to launch during the early days of this generation.
