I saw it Is on sale in PSN, how have the updates been for the game?
I'd say it is worth a look. Hello Games had added a lot more content with the various updates since launch. I got back into it during the recent ARG they did in the run-up to 1.3 and I was pleased with the additions.
the will seem fun and interesting for the first 15 or so planets...after that it's the same thing over and over with a different color scheme...what a missed opportunity...they could have created a universe filled with life but instead they made the universe feel empty
Why the hell did you buy a game you knew nothing about on day one?I bought this day one( for PC) and I booted it up about a month or so later. Then I noticed I had to find materials in order to fly off the planet, so I uninstalled it. I didn't see a reason to leave my spot on the planet. There doesn't seem to be any real threat unless you're falling into some sorta lava or toxic pit? Those drones are pointless enemies. I don't even understand why anything exists.
About a month ago (after everyone was praising the updates) I installed it again and this time went with the exploration mode (all the materials are automatically given to you). I spent about an hour flying at light speed and shooting asteroids that looked horrible. They look like dog biscuits when they're broken up in medium size pieces. I wasn't impressed by anything I saw. It felt like I was going somewhere very fast and everything in front of me stayed the same.
I didn't really feel like the game deserved the hype it received. I also feel like I'm LTTP in terms of exploring the galaxies. It all feels so forgettable. Maybe someone with more experience can discuss it. I had a very bad experience with it.
I felt like there was not enough there to keep someone coming back. I didn't feel like I'd discover the 2001 film's ending at the end of the rainbow. It felt like a rock simulator with rocket jets.

It's actually fun now that they added some purpose/other activities to the main gameplay loop.
If the game shipped in this condition originally, it would have been heralded as a fantastic game.
Go for it. I jumped back in, had a really fun 15-20 romp. Will probably play it again at some point.
But this thread will be full of people who are jaded from the "lies" from launch and never even played the game, so you should really decide if you have the time and money for it.
I bear no ill-will against the game at this point in time. However, Sean Murray refuses to apologize even to this day and that's what I don't want to overlook. A simple 'I'm sorry for saying things that weren't true' and I might even give the game a try myself. But just laying low after what happened ... no.

Apologize for what? It's social media that should apologize for overblowing his "promises".
He didn't promise something better Star Citizen. He just showed off Pokemon Snap in space, and everyone else took it to be a super insane space MMORPG Mass Effect X Eve Online.
I regret buying this and DOOM. If it's really cheap, maybe.
If you can find it discounted, sure. It's a nice, relaxing podcast game.
