Is Master Chief Collection worth getting for the single player alone?

I've been interested in master chief collection for a while now but avoided cause of multiplayer problems. Now I feel like getting it for just the single player because Ive never played halo 2 and playing through all 4 of the new games before Halo 5 sounds like fun. So is it worth it for single player alone? Thanks in advance for the opinions.

Halo 2 was definitely the high point of the single player campaigns of Halo for me. I say it's worth the $30 bones for that alone. Even if it were the exact same with no upgrades.

MCC single player is the ultimate Halo experience. Get it. No regrets or doubt. Its fantastic to get 60 fps on Halo 1. Feels so fresh. Worth the full price from day one.

Yes. The playlists, extra challenges, shorter load times, high quality cutscenes, FPS and new assets are great. I hope they port Reach, too, in 2016 to make the collection complete.

While the Single Player has some problems it's not as badly done as the multiplayer. Just be prepared for some lighting issues in Halo 3 and Halo 3 ODST if you buy it too. Also be prepared for it to crash on you once or twice. Probably this will happen on Halo 4 and it will be a black screen with red writing saying Untracked build. You'll then have to restart the game but it shouldn't crash again. At least not in the same spot. I have only had that crash happen about once per play through of 4.

I say yeah, I've gotten a ton of value out of the singleplayer and have almost no interest in multiplayer even now that it's been fixed.

Halo 2 is maybe not the strongest of the series in terms of singleplayer, though. I might even place it on the bottom.

If you didn't get it before because of the MP issues, does that mean you were interested in that as well?

If so, the MP is completely playable now. I won't say it works great but it's pretty decent, you won't come across too many issues.

Yeah, even at the messy launch if you were only in it for the SP the package was still worth it.

The right picture is actually Halo 3...people got beat with the ugly stick there.

I'm someone who got the game at launch and suffered some of the multiplayer issues but didn't really feel ripped off, because I was having a blast in the campaigns.

They're exceptional, and barring a few minor quirks in the porting they are all beautiful and amazing to play. So my vote is absolutely worth it (especially if you don't have an Xbox already due to the bundle options.)

I'd say yes, the graphics are kinda outdated and its weird going back to Halo style after the more recent ADS-type FPSes but its fun and a LOT of game for the money.

You can get the digital code pretty cheap since a lot of new xbox ones ship with a halo voucher inside and people already own it or something I guess, I bought a copy a few weeks ago for $20 paypal on ebay.

I played Halo 2 Anniversary's entire campaign over a friends house...man...took me right back to some happy days of mine. And even in splitscreen the performance was great.

I don't really care about Halo online multi, so i'd recommend it

100% yes.

I don't often play remaster or even double play games but playing the halo series from beginning to end in 1080p/60fps was a wonderful experience and probablt one of my favorite moments of this generation.

Why does the bolded sound so spooky, lol

They're not perfect ports, and for most of the games in the collection I actually prefer the originals despite the res/framerate boost (especially Halo 1). But if you're only considering the MCC version as an option and we're looking at it in a vacuum, sure, the campaigns are a good deal.

Yes, insane value for money and a ton of replayability, not without some quirks but lovely updates or remakes to each game included.

Of course. One of the best franchises ever created, and the improvements are awesome in MCC.
