Is MS and Xbox Live going to change in response to HOME?

Once again, you don't need to go into Home to everything, you can still use the XMB to do everything...

Why would people seriously complain about this if MS brought it to the 360? Seriously? As long as it's free like Home, and you have the option to use it or not if you don't like it, don't dl it, then WTH is the problem... It's free, you don't have to use it if you don't like it, and if you want to add things to it, then you can shell out the cash...

If it's something you don't have to use and still have all the functions... if it's something free... why seriously COMPLAIN about it, other than to......

I don't think Microsoft wants to go from first to worst in the online arena.......and be the only guy to make you pay for the experience. I think Microsoft will feverishly try to copy HOME, improve on it and serve up a 360 web browser to boot.

I like the idea of Home and would love to see Live adopt the changes Sony is making. I might not have let my Live subscription run out if Microsoft had a better online product.

Seems admins are only monitoring sony threads :lol

well this kind of biased moderating has been going on for ages here. just learn to live with it.

anyway.
from what I saw about HOME, looks like sony is not directly answering on what gamers want.

gamers say "I want unified friendlist and chat anywhere" and what we got on gdc as an answer is "hey! look at this application we call HOME! is it cool or what?"

of course one that does not know much about tech would imagine that xbox live features are easier to make than those pretty graphics on home, but the truth is exactly the opposite.

I do hope that the guys at sony still have their priorities straight, and missing features will come rather sooner than later.
until then...

what could microsoft do? for starters, they could LET GO OF THE STUPID 100 FRIENDS LIMIT!!!

this is so stupid its not funny any more. FIX IT DUDES!! STAT!!

Release Lyrics (Xbox Live version)
Artist(Band):The Tea Party

I want shoot shit up
I want to up my gamerscore
I want to kick some ass
You need to be released (from P2P)

Don't want to hurt you
I need to make you see
If I desert you
Its just to make you see

That I'm a man that's weak
And I'm a man that's lost
I give it all away
To complicate the cost

Don't want to hurt you
I need to make you see
If I desert you
Its just to make you see
I'm not going to hurt you now
I need to make you see
If I desert you now
Its just to make you see

I want you to be free
I want you to be free for me

Meh, I don't see the need for it. From what I've seen it doesn't interest me at all, but props to Sony for executing on their online plan.

Good points...this is the way to look at it. Home is a free playground for the PS3 community IMO...not Live. The PS3 OS will probably add Live features that work close to what will be available in Home....MS could add a "Community" button on the 1st blade that allows you to enter a 3d community playground as well.

I just think Live and Home are totally different things.

Wow, cant believe I just agreed with sony boy j-rzez. :lol

It would be really cool to use viva pinata as a dashboard game i think, a living breathing world that each time you turn on your console, something has evolved would be cool.

Why could Microsoft feverishly try to copy home? Home is not replacing PSN.

For Xbox Live to go from first to worst, Sony in one swoop has mandate voice chat, friends lists, achievements, and throw in custom soundtracks across the board for every game. And then Home can be an overlay for all that.

I would LOVE for Live to be free. But in the meantime you're paying for things that even with the addition of Home, you're NOT going to get with the PS3 that you do on Xbox Live. It's just like that.

It's becoming increasingly clear that people in this, and many other forums, have a hard time comprehending the english language, as well as processing images received by the eye and transformed into electrical signals to the brain.

Home will not replace the XMB. How many times do we need to hear 'i don't want to do ALL THAT.' Fine! Don't. Use XMB to browse the web, use the PS Store, watch trailers, play arcade games, and chat with friends.

Home will be launched out of the XMB; it will not become the XMB.

How giving people this option is looked down upon is beyond me. Now, as far as the performance of Home itself...that's a debatable topic. I'm personally worried that, with the complaints I see about slow downloading times on the PS Store, Home will put an even bigger strain on people who want to stick with XMB. Another potential issue is Sony losing sight of XMB in favor of Home. This must be addressed. Although, i'm willing to be there are separate teams for both interfaces...

So...yea. Don't be scurred. You don't want Home? Don't use it. The XMB will continue to be there, and will continue to be updated.

Plus, the shortcut navigation in Home will ensure that you don't actually have to walk around the place to get somewhere quickly. I think Sony knows what they're doing. I'm confident it will turn out for the best.

Did Rare say Viva originally started as something like that? It was a flower garden, and every time you put a game disc in it added a new plant.

Yeah, i heard something along the lines of that too. Seriously, its too cool to pass up imo. But then again, MS are pretty stupid when it comes to giving gamers what they want.
