Is Nickelodeon pushing Miranda Cosgrove too much?

Blasphemy! Sonny With A Chance is the ONLY show worth watching on Disney Channel. The combo of Demi Lovato and Sterling Knight never fails to make me laugh.
Phineas and Ferb says, "Lolwat?"

I'm sure crap like this is normal and you're only noticing it now because your kids make you watch it all god damn day

cane here to post this, as it's what has happened to me. I even have the album in my car because my daughter doesn't like "Daddy's music".

Yes, because I enjoy Little Bill and I'm nowhere near that show's demo.

You should watch it sometime. Little Bill is pretty bad ass.

REPRESENT, son.

Well iCarly was like the only show Nick had for a while. I mean there's True Jackson but they kind of just let that exist. At least now they have that new show Victorious with the girl who had a supporting role in Zoe 101. In my opinion, it's a much better show and the girl is a lot more attractive.

Oh jesus, sure Demi Lovato's hot even though she has a striking resemblance to Domo. But the show out right sucks donkey testi's!

I hate her. She's a low budget bitch who thinks she's an iPod.

But yes, most of these tween stars seem overworked for such a young age.

I've been really into this show lately. Was cracking up laughing last night while watching it. I think it's better than half the crap on Disney that's for sure.

Yeah it really is. It's so damn silly I can't help but lol. The early seasons of Zack & Cody when they were still at the hotel were also hilarious but I think they changed their writers and it's considerably shit now.

At least they still have Phineas & Ferb and that's all that matters.

You're dead to me

I like iCarly. Unlike most (read: all) of the Disney sitcoms, it's actually funny. And Miranda Cosgrove isn't getting pregnant, addicted to meth or sending naked pictures of herself to her coworkers. Besides, she's been around for a while. Have you not watched school of rock?

Yeah, Nick really wants their own Hannah Montana or Jonas Brothers but I don't think it's working out so well. I was watching the Teen Choice Awards last week with my lil' bro and for just about every category, it was mostly Disney stuff nominated/winning in Nick's own show :lol

I really don't know how Disney does it.
That was the worst award show I have ever seen. Very scripted and poorly written. It was awkward just watching it. Ugh...

Educate me about this "Little Bill"

It's a little boy named Bill and he's smooth. It's got jazzy music, too. That's pretty much all you need to know. Watch and live your life knowing it has improved after seeing this show.

My 7 yr old watches it. It's harmless enough. Don't know how how iknow but it is produced the guy who played the fat guy on Head or the Class in the eighties . That show was far worse.

Disney channel is pretty good, used to be way better four years ago, still better then Nick though.

I liked Zack & Cody and Hannah Montana, they had their moments of funny. Disney had some great kids sitcoms, before they became a tween-star producing machine.

It gets really repetitive fast!

If it was only the platypus and the evil scientist it would be much better.
I dont know, I find the sister's slow descent into insanity quite entertaining.

As a father of pre-teen girls, they are (like many others) really into some of the shows on Nick, especially Icarly. The show itself is ok, but i feel that Nickelodeon is trying to make Miranda Cosgrove the next Jamie Lynn Spears, and they're trying way too hard.

If this kid is going to really take off, then let her do it slowly. Icarly is on almost all the time, and now they are having music videos with her in it, etc....i dont know...is it just me? BTW..if you dont think this kid is heavily being pushed, i just read an online article a week or so ago saying that she just signed on to do like 24 more episodes of Icarly and the contract was in the low 7 figure range.

After Jamie Lynn Spears' show, she went no where.

But if I think that if any network is pushing their stars too hard, it's Disney (but what else is new? :lol)

Nick is dead to me since the mid 80s when the good stuff came on.

Fixed. If you didn't watch Nick when it was a bunch of random ass foreign kid's shows, you haven't lived.

Serious question

I haven't watched Nickelodeon in probably 12 years. Do they still show cartoons beside Spongebob and Avatar? I know Spongebob just because it's so hugely popular and Avatar because of the upcoming Shyamalan movie but besides that everything I hear coming out of Nickelodeon is iCarly this and Drake & Josh that...

When I watched Nick it was all Rugrats, Ren & Stimpy, AAHH Real Monsters, Angry Beavers, Doug, Wild Thornberries, Rocko's Modern Life, CatDog, Hey Arnold!, etc... with the occasional game show thrown in. There was the occasional Pete & Pete, Hey Dude, and Clarissa Explains it All but the live action shows were usually always secondary and most only lasted a couple years before being phased out.

Are people really complaining about kids shows? Did you expect to turn on the Nick or Disney channel, watch a tween show and expect to actually enjoy it despite you are not in their demographic?
Eh. I enjoy watching. Something strangely charming about that show. i thinks it's the writing.

Sure, why don't you spread the broken glass of those wonderful memories all out through this thread. Carry on.

Things like spongebob and avatar suggest that it is possible to make high quality shows for a younger demographic

Stephanie Tanner?

She has a song called "Kissin you" and she is going to sing it on "Kid's choice awards"

That pretty much sums up everything wrong with society

As a father, am I alone when I say iCarly is awesome? I watch it with my 20 month old daughter and even when she leaves the room I find myself still watching it lol. That and fresh beats band are awesome.
