Is Nintendogs Selling? ... Anecdotal Evidence Ahoy!

Our mall's Babbages was sold out - only those who preordered it could get it. The EB Games had a few of the Lab & Chihuahua versions left, but it was sold out of the Dachsund version ( which my brother and I wanted). Oh well. We got the Lab version.

I suspect there are short shipments - not a craze. Yet.

The two game stores I was at today both had a moderate # of copies.

I've never seen ANYTHING gaming related sell out around here, ever. Not the PS2 during its launch, or the N64 during its. I could find all games days after launch, etc.

When I went into the store to pick up my copie of AWDS, the place was packed. About 8 people were picking up the game, two kids were hovering over the demo, and 3 of the 8 who were buying the game were also buying the system (new).

Actually, that didn't happen. Only one person got the game while I was picking up AWDS.

I went into Gamestop and Walmart and both didn't even seem to have the game stocked... Wal-Mart had a release date of August 25th and Gamestop barely had a DS collection at all.

I did however see a soccer mom pre-order a Retard Pack for her spoiled little retard kid. Xbox360 is gonna be huge... =]

The first two stores I went to were sold out, but I found it at Walmart. The lady there coommented that the cabinet door for that game section had come unhinged, because so many people were buying it.

I also saw two guys trying to get their girl to play it on the demo kiosks. Sadly I think there is some reality and success with Nintendo's commercial.

Finally got back from work. Advance Wars is selling really well over here. We also only received one version of Nintendogs, the Chihuahua version. Of course I preordered the Dachshund, and some one else preordered the Labrador version. Of course though the store less than 15 minutes away got all 3 versions in. WTF!?!

I remember reading how Nanostray was in extremely short supply, so whenver I went into a store, id check if it was there. Never went out of my way, but if I was at the mall, passing by an EBGames, id check if they had a copy.

Never found one, but the NPD says 6,000 were sold and its being released in Europe. Majesco then anounced theyd give 2 free games to people in the advent rising conttest.

In other words, false hype. Majesco is fine, and although it had a small shipment, it wasnt tiny or overly popular.

Ill pick it up when its 20 or less.

The point is, the hype drew me in.

Game Crazy only got three copies in, one of each version, and they sold out. However, I got it at EBgames, but couldn't tell how many copies they got it. The clerk bought it though, so I'm guessing he was also suggesting it to customers.

EB here had only enough for preorders (no extras at all), Target didn't get any in except for AW, Best Buy won't have it until tomorrow....so I finally found a copy at WalMart (Dach).

I checked here (around Orlando) around 8 pm and out of 4 EBs and 1 Game Crazy there was only 1 Chihuahua copy left which my friend bought. I also ended up with the only copy of AW left which was a display copy covered in stickers and with no cellophane. >:( I put that cover on Yoshi Touch & Go.

Strolled in and got Chiahuauha and friends for the wife. No pre-order. Had about 10 copies. No one in the store.

Also checked my XBox 360 status. I had been automatically bumped to the $399 SKU.

Okay with me. :)

I picked up Lab and Dachshund at the local Fry's ($24.99 on Monday night), went back the next day for Dual Strike and all that was left were 3 Dachshund, 1 Lab, and a whole bunch of Chihuahua :) .

My girlfriend and I played it while in WalMart. No one bought it while we were there.

I said to her, "Hey, if we get this maybe we won't have to get a real dog!" to test the theory of whoever posted that thread about people with real dogs not getting the game and vice versa.

She said, "Uh, no."

That answers that.

I saw two Korean girls playing Nintendogs on their DSes in Physics Lecture. Everyone was looking at them (well, everyone around them) to see what they were playing.

Didn't look to be my bag but I have real dogs.

Does anyone know how to "reset" the game? I would like to start Nintendogs over from the very beginning.
From Penny Arcade,

This can be accomplished by starting the game, and immediately holding down A, B, X, Y, R, and L. I'm pretty sure.

Checked out the local mall today. EB sold out, Walmart out of Dach version but had the other two still. Picked up AWDS on the way :) woo!

I had all three versions paid off at my local EB thanks to the trade in 4 GBA games deal. Picked up the Lab and Chihuahua versions but the guy at the store said they were all sold out of the Dachsund. Oh well, they should be getting some more in later today. Still, it was a pre-order and they should have held it.

I was at Walmart today and picked up Advance Wars. They had a ton of copies in stock.

They also had a crapload of all of the Nintendogs titles except for Dach which they only had one copy left of.

So Chihuahua is the one nobody wants?

America and Japan unite against the devil pooch known as the Chihuahua, clearly. It sold worse there, and it will likely sell worse here.

I work in a store with a very, uh, unpopular game section. That said, We got 4 copies each of every Dogs plus AW, and I set aside AW and Dachs for myself. I only witnessed three purchases, and one was a canadian milf's 3 kids getting each version. Chihuahua hardly moved at all.

You work at Sears?

I got barked at by the stupid infra red standee at EB's door. I nearly stamped a baby Retriever to death.

Too bad I can't draw cause I would have drawn a 12-year old girl on the edge of crying in front of a "NINTENDOGS SOLD OUT" sign and a "playa" kid (like in the commercial) telling her with a smirk: "Don't worry, I'll let you play with my copy of Nintendogs...

for a blowjob"
