Peyton's obviously the better player, but trying to use two or three games to legitimize that view is about as flimsy as the argument that Brady is better becuz ringz.

Man, what a game. Very happy for Peyton Manning; he really deserves it. I hope he wins the whole thing. He's so damn good, but for some reason, maybe due to his recovering from the neck injury, and the way he was sent away from the Colts, I continue to view him like he's some underdog, because there really seemed to be a lot of doubt that he would make it back to this level ever again.

Happy to see him playing in the big game, and I hope he wins it while making some more history.

Hey I was emphatic on Peyton > Brady long back when this thread was made, this is just another notch in Peyton's belt.

Manning and Brady match-up often when one has a good team and the other doesn't. I'm of the opinion that Manning does better with worse tools than Brady does with bad tools. Regardless, another year where the pats lose, another year I can stay happy.

I disagree on that part. Both times Brady lost to Manning in the AFC title game he had terrible WRs. In 2006 he had Reche Caldwell, Jabar Gaffney, and a 35 year old Troy Brown as his top WRs. This year he had Edelman, Amendola off and on, and a rotating group of rookies as his targets to go along with a banged up O-line and defense. I'm not sure Manning could do the same in those circumstances.

Either way, they're both extremely high on the all-time list, but I wouldn't put either ahead of Montana quite yet. If Manning wins this year he strengthens his case a lot, especially since he'll be playing a strong defense in a bad weather game.

Even after today's events, doesn't change much on my opinion. I like Peyton more as a quarterback and a leader, but I don't necessarily believe he is superior.

Peyton Manning: Best QB to never beat the Gatas.

When has Manning thrown to a Reche Caldwell as his number 1? When has Manning thrown to an Edelman as his number 1?

Manning has always had all-pro receivers. Harrison, Wayne. He had Clark. Now he has an all-star team he's throwing to.

EDIT:

He covered it, too.
