Is Quiznos going out of business?

They lowered their prices and started putting lot less meat in their sandwiches it seems.

I still prefer them to Subway, I can't stand Subway.... course I prefer anything to Subway.

This statement is true.
Roast Beef on wheat with mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, giardiniera peppers, pickles, and seasoning, amirite?

I don't understand how people can eat Bigs. The sandwiches look small, but they're so damn filling. Also, damn those huge pickles are delicious.

Well, I know what I'm getting for lunch.

Reading this thread has me hungry for Jimmy Johns. Not only are the sandwiches great but the signs inside are hilarious :lol

People like Firehouse Subs? I love their meatball subs

Can I have the meat warmed up only and put into the bread afterwards like at Subway?

The deli cuts are cold, but stuff like chicken and steak is hot/warm before it's toasted, they leave the meats in some boiling water or au jus.

I really don't get the Jimmy John's love. The loaves always taste funky, and they barely fill it up with anything. Not to mention that the cuts taste like they're from the supermarket.

In terms of Subway, their chicken made me sick (consequently on Election Day 2008 - actually on my way down to Grant Park where Obama was having his rally), and I haven't been back since.

I got food poisoning twice from Subway, probably why I hate them so much. Old GF of mine used to work at one, the meats sit there all day with just some ice under them, and generally after the first few hours the ice melts and by the end of the day it's no longer cold. Fuck that. Also nothing fresh about their veggies.

Haven't tried Jimmy Johns yet, one opened few months ago but the Five Guys that is next to them is murdering them. JJ's is always empty, doubt it will last long.

I had to read this damn thread before lunch. It means I have to go to Potbelly now. As for Quizno's they expanded way too quickly. They started sprouting up everywhere around here, it seemed like, and most of those have since gone under. That said, I like them better than Subway. Subway food just...creeps me out somehow.

Quiznos is vastly superior to Subway. I actually eat there quite often. The one where I live seems to do pretty well.
No question about it. I really don't like Subway any more.

You can ask for the sandwiches to not be toasted? Then why do those assclowns toast every sandwich I buy from there as if there's no option?

I admit that there ovens are better than the shitty microwaves at Subway, but both Subway and Blimpie tear the shit out Quiznos' veggies.

I have no problem with a hot sandwich, but Quiznos goes too far. Honestly the only thing I like hot on a sandwich, are meat and cheese. Everything else should be cold.

I'll admit that Quiznos was pretty damn solid around uh 2004 when they started to get big. They were a worthy alternative, but soon after that, I couldn't stand them. Too damn expensive for one thing.
I have even asked them not to toast subs in the past and they do anyway.

There used to be a Quiznos here a while ago, and I would always get the Buffalo Chicken Ranch, I believe it was. Really good. But then they stopped making them... and then it closed down. There's one right outside my campus, and as much as I miss it, I've actually only been there once.

I prefer everything I eat toasted anyway, so it's not a big deal for me.

Quiznos used to be good but there quality has really gone down past couple years. I can't stand eating there anymore.

I think it coincided with the price war with Subway. I used to get some ridiculous sandwiches from them back in 2003, and they were all $8+ not including a tax or drink. Now? Yeah, they're cheaper and the quality isn't there.

But same can be said on Subway I think. I remember a time when they were a lot better, and when their menus had more than 7 sandwiches on them.

I'd like to go to a local sandwich shop but there just aren't any near me.

Not a single Quiznos can stay open on the west side of Cleveland. In the past few years they stay open for maybe 3 months tops then close down. Then maybe new management will move into the same building and they'll start the cycle again.

I LOVE Quiznos, but it's one of those places I really only go rarely since they're food is extremely bad diet wise. But oh so tasty.

I'm sure it depends on the store. At the one I go to you could make a second sandwich out of all the chicken and lettuce that falls in to the wrapper they pack so much on.

Those of you in socal, try this place:

Cousins' friend used to work there and we would go there and he would put extra meats on our subs. Firehouse is very good but kinda expensive

They can thank this for it

Quiznos is great. But I, and a bunch of other people I've talked to, didn't eat there for YEARS specifcally because of that commercial.

I like Quiznos subs more than Subway's but it's just too damn expenisive in Manhattan though. $10 for a foot-long sub? Come on. I can get two Subway sandwiches for that price.

Definitely my sandwich shop of choice. Plus the local one has this funky ass black dude in a navy outfit as their sign waver. He even moonwalks.

My local Quiznos has had a hand written "Closed for buisiness" sign for about six months now. With the misspelling and everything.

They need to bring them back.

I used to go there quite often a few years ago and always got a good sandwich. Having moved to a new state recently I tried the one near my campus and the food started off alright the first few times. And then the last three times have literally ended with incredible sickness. The most recent had me literally running to the bathroom and violently throwing up.

I refuse to eat there again. Also the employees yell "thank you for coming to Quiznos!" at you like they are some kind of robots. The music is way too loud and obnoxious and blaring at almost full blast. And whenever I order a small sandwich I get shit from whoever is making it because they always ask if I am sure I don't want a combo or a larger one. Anyway, what was once one of my favorite places to get a bite to eat is essentially dead to me (at least the one I know of now is).

I had a peppercorn steak from Quiznos for lunch today. Add honey mustard & pickles, so good (though in retrospect I should've added hot peppers).
