Is Randy Marsh the best south park character?

Where's the Ike love? No character makes me laugh as consistently as him. I think it's the voice.

The table scene with him and Kyle in the female teacher episoed is one of the show's absolute comedic highlights.

No, Cartman when he still had a whiny voice is. I stopped finding the show hilarious once he ditched they whiny voice.

I still like the show and Cartman but it's kind of sad that he went from the angry spoiled fat kid to a hyper psychopathic villain.

This hurts my whole body.

And yes, Randy is the best.

Once I rose above the noise and confusion
Just to get a glimpse beyond this illusion
I was soaring ever HIYAAAAAAAAAAAA
But I flew to high

And of course I use is as my ringtone.

I hate Randy.

I once found him amusing, but they've overused him and now he just annoys the hell out of me.

Butters is still the best character on the show, followed by old-school Cartman (before he became Evil Genius Cartman).

Randy and Butters are by far the saving grace of South Park these days.

But, I'd like to also propose that any episode to do with Canada/Terrence and Philip/Ike is usually golden.

Randy has been my favourite character for the last 10 seasons. His episodes always have the funniest plot lines.

Butters is one of the funniest whipping-boy characters a show has ever had. He just always gets screwed over.

Cartman is a larger than life character but I've found him kind of irritating in recent seasons.

Also really like Jimmy. Show needs more Jimmy.

Only in the newer seasons, in the beginning he was really bland

To be honest they didn't really characterize Stan's parents until the later seasons. It wasn't so much that Randy was bland, he just wasn't an important character at all. Think of him like an extra in a movie. Really just background.

From about season 6 onwards they started writing the parent characters properly and the show benefited greatly.

Yup, Randy's one of the best. Watching him playing Heroin Hero is priceless. He also shines in the episodes Bloody Mary and the easter bunny one.

Chef was great too, he always made me laugh with his songs, and Mr. Garrison was pretty funny in the first seasons ("Remember that there aren't stupid questions, only stupid people" directed to Cartman is pure win).

Randy is pretty fucking awesome.

Definitely the best South Park character, I tend to only watch Randy and Cartman episodes now. Kenny ones really annoy me, he is just a one-dimensional character and the Mysterio/Coon episodes need to go and die in a fire.

STAAAAAAN? STAAAAAAAAAAAN!

He's great in Make Love Not Warcraft too, when his character dies and he's stood at the computer making death noises.

Funniest moment for me is why his wife kidnaps the officer:

Randy: Honey you know we've got an Officer tied up in the cellar?
Sharon: I had to do what was necessary to protect our son.
Randy: But why'd you take his pants off?

Imo Cartman is the funniest overall, they've just used him a bit too much because the show's been running forever and he's the most popular character.

Only in two episodes, but Nathan is the best character in South Park:

The voice they give him is so menacing yet stupid, I love it. I lose my shit everytime I watch him selling steroids to Jimmy.

"Oh yeah, sure, but these are NEW"

I haven't seen every episode by a long shot, but yea, Cartman is the best IMO w/ Randy being a close second.

I came to this realization not too long ago. I noticed that every time an episode had Randy in it I smiled in anticipation of the nonsense that was about to happen.

Could you folks recommend me some good episodes?

That guy cracks me up. When he told Jimmy that steroids are really just a "performance enhancer" I about died.

As far as the main players, it is Butters by a mile. Then Cartman and Randy. Cartman still has my biggest laugh line (although Butters related) when Butters' dad comes clean in the press conference about gay sex at bath houses and Cartman does some sort of "Wha hooooo" sound that consistently makes me laugh no matter how many times I see it.

Thanks dude!
The southpark guys are genius for uploading the entire series in their site.

Yep randy and butters by far

As an aside what characters have they written out of the series since the early days? Chef and the woman bus driver spring to mind, did they kill big gay al off? How about the scientist guy, Mefesto or similar?
