Is Red Dead Redemption Remaster going to happen?

Red Dead Retaliation.
Red Dead Reticulation.
Red Dead Rangers
Red Dead Rapscallion.

I want to see space cowboys, so
Red Dead Raygun
Red Dead Rocketship
Red Dead Ringwold

On topic though, RDR on last gen holds up pretty well IMO. Played some of it last weekend and was pleasantly surprised. That art style is just timeless (okay, maybe not timeless, but time-resistant)

I just did - with the power of common sense.

Why would they skip to 3?

The "second" one was not called Revolver 2 for a reason - they wanted to get away from that and start something fresh.

Red Dead Redemption is the name of the franchise from now on.

IMO of course.

Well, one could argue that RDR was John Marston's redemption, and the next game could be
Jack Marston's
retribution, going higher up the ladder to take down the
government agency who ordered his father's death
. I haven't actually finished RDR though, so this is based on what I already know and reading the plot summary on Wikipedia.

OP reminds me of a buddy of mine. Always pulling some crazy "rumors" (can't even qualify them as proper rumors most of the time) and nonchalantly passing them on as widely known facts.

I really don't see a remaster being released any more.

I told my friend I will PayPal him $10 if he sends a reliable source stating that Rockstar has confirmed a remaster is coming. Him and his friend keep telling me it's confirmed. I feel like I am in high school all over again with people spewing bullshit about the next Grand Theft Auto. Usually I don't bother correcting people about that stuff, but he is adamant.

I would love for it to happen, though. I plan on playing through the game a second time anyway.

I agree with everything you say, I just assume someone in marketing will start talking about brand recognition and everybody will agree that calling this thing red dead redemption 2 is probably the smart thing to do.

We obviously can't answer your question. Also you started the thread with an unsubstantiated rumor.
