To anyone who owns a PSVR2, is it worth it? Is it fun? How often is it used?
Well, if you love videogames and you want to experience being INSIDE them, then yes. And it's a pretty darn good piece of hardware. But it's a niche market, and there are much less games on it than the regular ps5 catalogue. So, it's a must if you would be contented by few great unforgettable experiences per year, but no regular gaming (unless you would like the many indies that often come out).To anyone who owns a PSVR2, is it worth it? I had the Quest 2 but I stopped playing it for months but idk why, I had a thought maybe psvr2 would be a big differenceWell, if you love videogames and you want to experience being INSIDE them, then yes. Hybrid games like RE8 are the overall best direction in this VR timerame, plus the few great VR native games like Saints and Sinners.
For most of people there's also the need to grow VR legs, before being able to enjoy gaming freely.
Lol No, it's the opposite. It simply has a better display but for now it's less usable than any other VR set. It's better but not drastically better, don't go for YouTube hype. It's the difference between ips and oled screen phones.I had the Quest 2 but I stopped playing it for months but idk why, I had a thought maybe psvr2 would be a big difference
Well, it depends by what you are looking for in VR: if you are attracted mostly by casual games like Beat Saber, then the Quest 2 is a better deal due to it being standalone, without a cable. If instead you are looking for the best immersion from the point of view of visuals, 3D audio and haptics, then PSVR2 is two generations above the Quest 2 (Unless you link Quest 2 to a powerful pc: then the difference would be mostly on the perfect blacks and colors of the OLED screens of ps2, while the level of rendering would depend by the pc used).I had the Quest 2 but I stopped playing it for months but idk why, I had a thought maybe psvr2 would be a big difference
I'm waiting for, if, half life Alyx gets a port. Instant day one copy and vr kit for me.
Must give it a look on YouTube.I would get Alex as well but GT7 is the most amazing experience I've had so far. The reaction on YT videos is real. It looks shockingly real. Will ruin 2d racing for you.
Believe me when I say this after 25 hours in Alyx, RE8 VR is on par with Alyx in almost every aspect. I would even argue that immersive interface is way better in RE8 because of the clever use of jacket and hands.I'm waiting for, if, half life Alyx gets a port. Instant day one copy and vr kit for me.
Not much to play? What are you smoking?Nah.
Is fun and all, but not much to play. Will definitely collect dust after 1/2 months.
Buy used and sell asap.
I'm beat saber only. Waiting for RE 4

After 4 months I already have 25+ games and there are still more that I want to play, not even counting future releases.
Why shoud I not count PC VR or Quest ports? Please name those 25 . Not counting GT7, RE8, Horizon and quest games .
---GT7 is amazing with the racing wheel. It is the best VR racing game right now, period.
RE Village is fucking great.
Horizon is okay. Visually stunning and I liked the high level of interactivity and realistic physics, which isn't as common in VR as you'd think. But the game itself is just okay, I guess. I dunno, there's a shitload of climbing in it and it was getting kinda tiresome during longer sessions.
No Man's Sky was actually better on PC, on PS5 it was really blurry the last time I played it.
Star Wars was okay, nothing really special compared to Quest 2 version, just with better graphics.
That's all I played so far. None of the other games seemed that inticing to me so far, especially since most of them are also on PC or Quest where I already played them. For those games that I played on Quest but are available on PSVR 2, I would recommend Walking Dead, Pistol Whip, Beat Saber, After The Fall, Drums Rock, and Kayak VR.
Oh, and there's also Resident Evil 4 VR coming, that's gonna be fucking sick. Some of the recently announced shooters also look pretty tight.
Overall, there's quite a lot of games for it that are worth playing so yeah, definitely go for it OP if you have that option. Although if you have the option to get a PC VR setup then I'd still recommend going with that, either Quest 2 or Quest 3, but only because it offers a heck of a lot more options compared to PSVR 2. But if console VR is your only option then PSVR 2 is still great.
You don't know what you're talking about, my friend.PC-VR development (where PSVR got the overwhelming majority of its games) has been dead for several years now and Sony clearly has no interest in funding enough stuff to make PSVR2 worth its $550 buy-in (which is significantly higher than the console itself). Should the Vision Pro, Quest 3, and Valve Deckard somehow lead to a miraculous resurgence in VR development, PSVR2 will be several hundred dollars cheaper by then so no reason not to wait. Jim Ryan is a fool for releasing this thing at this price with no software roadmap to speak of.
There's just something about this thing that makes people angry about other people buying it.You don't know what you're talking about, my friend.
Technology wise: absolutely
Library wise: not yet. It spends more time in the box than strapped to my noggin
Yes, but be aware that whilst launch had quite a variety of games, there hasn't been a good flow of games since then in my opinion and the ones I do want to play (namely Firewall) have no release date other than 2023 which is annoying.
I played through RE8, a bunch of Demeo, some GT7 and Pavlov but haven't really used it in a couple of months because there's nothing else I want to play that's out.
I'd say hold fire unless you can name a few games that you really want to play right now.
It's sad because it was expensive for all of us who bought the thing, accepting its nit retro compatible and has a wire. It's a lit of sacrifice and Sony, once again, let their most loyal customers unsatisfied. It's an habit by now.For me it has not quite been worth it. I have a few games, but besides RE7 and Gran Turismo there isnt much i car for.
I bought Kayak around launch and played all of 15 mins. Les Mills is a decent if not extremely bare bones workout game. Some stuff im just not will to plump $40 down for without know the quality and replayability, i.e. Creed.
Honestly, needs more RE quality games. Sadly, VR2 is an afterthough for most developers and even Sony from what we can tell. They need to expands its reach....the damn thing should at least have Netflix and Hulu VR.
Unfortunately its probably going to take Apple to punch a hole in Sony's ass to wake them up.
Have to agree here. really hoping firewall is good. For me it has not quite been worth it. I have a few games, but besides RE7 and Gran Turismo there isnt much i car for.
