I just don't understand the greatest game library bit. Nintendo re-hashes every game every generation and Nintendo fans shit themselves every time. Mario Kart 8 is the 8th Mario Kart and its still the same kart racer. I bought it and yep, its Mario Kart again. I get it people like Nintendo Franchises but they get old when you have been playing them for 20 years. I would like to see more 3rd party stuff on the Wii U because Nintendo has become very boring and predictable lately, with Splatoon being the exception. My Wii U only gets used when I have friends over that want to play smash, and that game is another re-hash.
If Nintendo had a better lineup this holiday season and maybe a price drop, it would totally outsell PS3 and 360 combined. Maybe even reach Xbox One numbers.
umm....
Do you believe in miracles?
I do
"Maybe even reach Xbox One numbers."
Yep. It could definitely happen. If MS raised the price of the console to about a thousand per unit and made Halo 5 a Wii U exclusive.
Nintendo's dead remember? All they have are amiibos and no innovation.
Well, right now Wii U LTD is not really that far behind Xbone. But yeah, Ninty doesn't have any games coming out to push a whole lot of units this fall or next year.
Splatoon sales are very high, Amibos are selling like selfie sticks, and it already has multiple AAA games.

No. All that remains to be determined is whether it will be remembered with the same type of reverence that is afforded the Dreamcast or as one of the industry's biggest mis-steps.
You... make a joke like that on the day of a big release? Is it the only place to begrudgingly buy a digital-only copy of Fatal Frame and, at some later date, play #FE?
Don't call that a comeback. WiiU's been like that for years.
Even if it's close LTD numbers, the Wii U isn't going to be closing a 160k monthly sales gap with the X1 without MS doing something crazy (or Nintendo) for that gap to remotely start to become smaller.
Right, that's why I said Nintendo doesn't really have anything coming out to change anything. Like maybe if they had a new 3d mario, smash bros, mario kart, metroid and some sort of awesome new ip coming out this holiday and dropped the price to $199 they could catch up, but even then it would be close.
You... make a joke like that on the day of a big release?
The fuck?
I look for great exclusives and great third party options. I found both elsewhere. If you are looking for a high selling system, look elsewhere.
If you are looking for a system with tons of awesome exclusives, the Wii U has totally made a comeback.
Your perspective would depend on your priorities.
A ride? A successor that is according to japanese gamers much worse than the first game, a low budget space shooter with graphics from the Gamecube area and a another 2D game, this time a editor, that could be as well a app on the AppStore. For me, that is not a ride.
I really regret buying one. The only really memoryable game was DKTF, but other than that, I didn't need any of those games.

Umm... yeah, it has had a shitty release calendar. Nobody is disagreeing, but way to wreck the SHIT out of that straw man.The first big release since May. And before that, the last big release was in 2014. Wooo!
I truly can not comprehend how a console with such a rich game library could have ever failed./s

The fuck, eh? Sure, I'll make a joke like that, since I don't get excited about every big release. It's almost like people like different things, or something.
If you consider the day of a big release clear indication of a comeback, by all means state that case.
I swear this is an old thread that a mod has messed with to change all the dates on. Not as in this topic has come up before (it has, oh man has it ever) but that the same people have made these exact same comments. Maybe I'm losing my mind.
To the question, no, there's probably no comeback here. But OP if it has made a comeback for you, that's all you need to worry about. Nintendo ain't going broke.
Shhh, OP, you are going to give "core" players a panic attack!
Just to imagine that the gamepad could become a trend and copied by MS or Sony makes the blood rush to their feet. Learning something! To play video games! Having to become good and develop a new set of abilities! Their world would crumble.
That's why there is a crowd so eager of the 'NX': they naively think that the gamepad will go away.
I already stated it in my post above yours! The system sells like shit, but it has added up to quite a library in the years it has been out.
In all fairness, you are right, everyone has a different definition for comeback. Some people think that high sales mean comeback, some people think games that they enjoy make for a comeback.
Apologies for being skeptical of your interpretation.
*edit*
Oh god double post I'm so sorry everyone.
