Is there a Game that downright offended you?

No

Other M. Possibly the most sexist, disturbing character assassination I've ever seen. 'Disrespectful to Metroid' can't even begin to describe it.
Why they gotta do you like that, Samus?

I might have been offended by this if I hadn't avoided it.
It would still only be jokingly, I don't know how you can get offended at games

I was offended by some of Ninja Theory's (mainly just Tameem's) behavior back during the marketing of DmC. Not necessarily the game itself though.

Rainbow Six Vegas. Take a tactical-shooter series and remove the tactical. What do you get? A hunk of shit that barely resembles its foundation. Not to mention the bugs it had that never got fixed. Enemy spawning in terrorist hunt was progressive, enemy AI was ridiculous, and it was overall a poor attempt at trying to streamline the series.

Makes me sick.

I could do without the "LOL Kazuma getting chased by an okama" garbage in Yakuza, or the extremely gross trans prostitute jokes in Dragon Age: Origins and DA 2, but...those are small parts of their respective games, which is why it's hard to say I'm offended by the games as a whole.

For my part it was the trailer for Hatred. That game has no part in the gaming community. There is a difference between making a action game like GTA where killing innocent is possible and Hatred where the only mission is to spread hatred and be awarded for killing innocent.

First version of Final Fantasy XIV during its beta. I felt offended as a gamer by such a badly designed game.

Out of morals? Not really.

Why should people be offended by a game?

Why should they be offended by movies or anything that happens in real life that they don't like, when they could just ignore it? Because the human mind doesn't work like that and people seem to like voicing their opinions about not liking something and they're not about to stop.

On a purely gaming front and in terms of sheer 'badness' then Afterfall Insanity and Deadly Premonition 'offended' me. I have no one but myself to blame; I wasn't forced to see either of them through to the end.

Afterfall was more like a quest. I bought the game because it looked interesting and only played a little bit and stopped; I returned over a year later to finish it. I could only manage 10-20 minute chunks before feeling so angry at the clunkiness and sheer mind-numbing boredom of the game. I am a complete idiot for putting myself through it.

Yeah, that really got me mad, especially after reading articles about how they were trying to treat religion in a respectful way while developing the game.

For me it was unpleasant considering that I've resigned from the state church, and I detest the idea of forced baptism. The religious themes didn't bother me otherwise.

"Offended" is becoming my least favorite word in the English language. It's a meaningless word people use to complain about things they don't like when they can't think of actual arguments.

Why should people be offended by a game?

A game where the goal is to stalk a woman and her two daughters (ages 16 and 10!), kidnap them, and endlessly rape them in revenge of her telling the police that you groped her is offensive. At the very least, you should be able to understand why someone would be offended.

I'm sure it's already been brought up but reading about RapeLay gave me chills. It's offensive to everyone that it was ever made.

Are you genuinely unsure what being offended means, or are you just making a vague political comment about how you should have the right to offend whoever you want without being called out on it?

Person 4 Arena

Because of making it region-locked. As a European, who has been badly screwed over by region locks before, it's not a practice I find acceptable.

I'm boycotting Atlus games until they show that they are taking the European market seriously by opening offices here.

Gaming brings about many annoying words that are used ad-nauseum. "Hyperbole" being the word at this time.

There is one or two games that I actually do find offensive due to their content (not that they are just plain rubbish).

How is it meaningless? Multiple people in the thread have already posted its dictionary meaning. Whether or not it is always used correctly is a different question entirely.

Thats one out of two female designs that is somewhat acceptable. The other mature woman is not even datable. Everybody else basically looks like...

...this.

The only bad ones I can find are amber and Xiao Pai (These are all from the Rune Factory 4 wiki)

When I was in junior high, postal 2 when I got to the slaughter house and the cow was in the grinder. I took up vegetarianism because I was disturbed and offended. Funny that was the only thing I took offense with. Anyhow, that lasted like 6 months, I ate meat, and have yet to find anything offensive. I just think sheltered little me couldn't handle it, then the Internet age grew me up too fast and I can't find anything in games offensive.
