Is there a worse band than Smash Mouth?

Agreed.

Except for their CD last year. It sucked a fucking dick.

But yeah, Chuck and DTLI are awesome.

And I just noticed this thread is 2 years old. WTF?

But on that note, to the guy who said Incubus and blink: wrong.
I liked a few songs on Underclass Hero, but ya for the most part, it was a big let down. I'm guessing the lack of Dave had a lot to do with it :( Their first album, Half Hour of Power is awsome too. I'd say..

Does This Look Infected & Chuck > Half Hour of Power > All Killer No Filler > Underclass Hero

I can't decide between DSLI and Chuck. HHOP and ALNF was a close one too.

I dunno. I kinda like My Chemical Romance's latest album. Black Parade, The End., Teenagers, Dead!, Famous Last Words, This is How I Disappear and I Don't Love You are pretty good. And I kinda like I'm Not Okay (I Promise) from the previous album.

I'll agree with the "every band created by Disney" comment. They know how to create a shitty cookie cutter band for tweens to go crazy over and annoy the hell out of everyone else.

No, Nickelback is pretty awful. One of the least interesting, and manufactured bands in existence. As for other choices, I really fucking hate Dream Theatre. They have so much raw talent, but no songwriting skills.

Not really a fan, but Nickelback isn't as bad as people on the net say. When a ROCK band manages to sell as many albums as they sold of their last one, they must be doing something right.

It kind of annoys me that they're more "rock" than 90% of what is "rock" today. Of course, they're pop radio friendly, so it's cool to hate on them.

But they're such an easy fucking target to hate on. There is so much worse stuff out there.

Nickelback is the new Godsmack, where they can only write one song.

Oh, there's also that part where they halfway ripped a chorus off of Eve 6.

There's something pretty rad about Devo 2.0, though. It's almost as if, by taking Devo, changing the lyrics to inoffensive twaddle and forcing tweens to sing all the songs, it's even more satirical than the actual Devo.

A local radio station I listen to got its start last year. They play a whole selection of good stuff. About a month after they started, a few weeks after I started listening they made an announcement on the air during one of the bumpers.

"We heard your calls and read your emails, so we have removed all our Nickelback and Creed. Thank you for helping make Radio 104.5 better."

It was that moment I knew I was going to love that station. :D

I actually think Sublime is the band that pisses me off the most right now. Their shitty songs have been desecrating the local radio stations here for a decade. At least these other shitty bands that people mentioned have died off.

I'm not really a fan of the original Devo.

Except maybe Whip It. But only for camp value.

I like The Monkey's though. They were created as a fake band. But their stuff is awesome. Disney tried to replicate that. And IMHO is failing. Sadly, tweens eat that shit up. They don't care as long as their favorite "actress" or "actor" is "singing" it.

Can we somehow destroy Hannah Montana? Somehow, somewhere I hope she ends up like Britney Spears and her sister and Lindsay Lohan... also, why do all actresses think they should sing?

What, you don't like Through the Fire and Flames?

Because I do.
While I like good, complex guitars, my idea of "good, complex guitars" isn't scales run at 200bpm while some retard who sounds like he got kicked in the nuts sings about orcs and warlocks and shit. Zzzzzzzzzzzz.

Also, every shitty rap rock scary clown band on "Psychopathic Records" is like scraping the bottom of the quality barrel.

Fall Out Boy

This really is a lame answer. They're a good pop rock band. Very catchy stuff and their singer has a really good singing voice.

Seriously, answers like that just come off as "whatever is popular now sucks". Fall Out Boy is WORSE than Smash Mouth?

They're WORSE than Crazy Town or LEN or MSI?

And the crazy thing is that the band died off (literally, well, the lead singer did) before they had a single hit.

Actually, I thought a bit and realized that "All Star" by smash mouth HAS to be one of my top 5 least fav songs. I would imagine that I liked it the first few times I heard it, but after about 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000x, it got old. REAL old. like, OMG my ears are bleeding old.

for that song, and it's overplayed sillyness, i will vote for Smash Mouth.

Say what you will about "All-Star", "Walkin' on the Sun" was one of the 90's best pop songs. So Smash Mouth gets a pass.

[Patrick Stump] also produced a track titled "Little Weapon" on Lupe Fiasco's record The Cool.
then it says he's credited producer/songwriter. he's a genius. :(

and i do like their collab with timbaland, i'm not gonna lie.

K TIME TO STOP FALL OUT BOY <3'ING. :(

A bit embarrassing, but I don't keep up with new popular music much anymore. Is Nickleback that band with the guy who sounds like he's straining on the toilet?

If so, I nominate them. Yeah.

Whoever posted bloc party should just die, silent alarm is a fucking classic! and their b-sides are better than a weekend in the city!

Linkin Park
Maroon 5
The Tings Tings( thats not my namex1000=wtf?)

Basically those three should die in a fire.

Holy shit, you just failed life right there. Sum 41 is one of the best bands around. Easily my favourite band for years.

Why is it that Sum41 is so under rated? Buy Chuck, and Does This Look Infected. Fucking amazing songs on those albums.
You bumped a thread last active on 10/20/2006 to defend Sum 41? REALLY? :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

what the hell.

smashmouth?
sugar ray
crazytown?
Simple Plan?

these are the greatest bands of all time.

Just to put it into context here, the only reason people hate popular bands is because people actually heard them to judge them. The truly awful bands are quickly forgotten. That being said, Nickelback should've died when it was proved they're reusing the same song over and over again, but Aqua...because they raped earbuds with their Barbie Girl song, I've voting them for worst band ever.

pretty much any band that gets radio and MTV play is awful. There are some exceptions every once in a long while.

I would concur with Crazy Town, with reservations. Smash Mouth is slightly better, but they're also more overplayed - that one "Butterfly" song disappeared pretty fucking quickly, but All Star has been around fucking forever. Also, the remake of that one Monkees song.
I think a lot of people hate Smash Mouth because of "All Star." But they have at least two songs that I consider classics, "Walking on the Sun" and "Then the Morning Comes." C'mon, those are good rock songs and at least have a unique sound.
