I'm so sick of the St. Anger hate, obviously it's not like their pre-black albums but it was what they wanted to do and it really grew on me. It wasn't over produced like Load+ReLoad, it was gritty and raw which I appreciated coming from them. I enjoy St. Anger.

I don't really understand how you could think that album is alternative, sure for Load and Reload but not St. Anger. It obviously isn't thrash metal like Kill 'em All but it's metal.

Ok I understand that, I personally enjoyed the rawness of them. And yeah, Lars went a little overboard but he is still a talented drummer.

True story:

when I was a freshman in college I went to a free screening of Rat Race on campus. At the end of the movie there is a concert (in the movie) with Smash Mouth, as soon as Smash Mouth came on stage everyone in the theater booed.

Apparently they were supposed to play on campus 2-3 years prior but were too drunk/stoned to put on a full set.

Metal is subjective. Anyone can interpret of what metal is. Shit, look how metalheads in the 80's despised black and early death metal, but now people love it.

I listen to almost every genre in music. No way in hell am I just sit on my ass and listen to same categorized metal everyday, you know?

Anyways, I think Slayer is overrated. I don't give a damn if they're legendary for Reign In Blood, that doesn't excuse them for the monotonous crap they've released post-Reign In Blood.

I remember NME(New Musical Express) Award for worst band in 2008 went to the Hoosiers.
Not sure why.
And "Summer Girl" by Smash Mouth in 2006 was not a bad album.
