Is there a Zelda style PSP game?

I need a new psp game and I want something a bit deeper than what I have been playing (KZlib, God of War Coo, Hot Shots 2).

I am interested in a good puzzle game but I was after something along the lines of Zelda. I know it won't be as good but is there a psp equivalent??

I was think Jeanne d'Arc but i think it's too RPG and they're not my thing.

MediEvil Resurrection is the closest thing I can think of that might vaguely fit the bill...
I'm not sure if this one is any good though.

Played it already. I must just buy Daxter. It has high reviews. Anybody played it?
Daxter was great. Reminded my a lot of the original Jak and Daxter, only now with weapons thrown in. Its probably my favorite PSP game to this day.

Daxter is really good! My first PSP game and I loved it. Hoping for a sequel, been waiting for the announcement. They can release episodic content for this game.

Gurumin is so fucking awesome. Even if you despise the cute style, the game has TONS of stuff to do, a lot of dungeons, good combat for what it is, great soundtrack, and charming and hilarious characters/story. Last time I checked it was super cheap too.
It's probably my favorite game on the PSP and one of my favorite games released recently.

EDIT: NO don't get Daxter. Get Gurumin.

Ys reviewed poorly but If you guys say it's good then I should check it out.

I'll go to the store and the first I see out of Gurumin, Daxter and Y's I see, I will buy. Thanks

I greatly prefer Ys VI (Ark of Napishtim) over Gurumin (both are made by the same company), but saying that, if you aren't on custom firmware, then forget Ys VI. It's basically unplayable on stock firmware.

THAT said, neither come close to scratching the Zelda itch. Ys VI is more of a straight up ARPG (and an awesome that), and Gurumin is... well... closer to Zelda, but still a far cry. And the camera is fucking horrible. Platforming's pretty bad too.

Ys is awesome... The only downfall of the game is that it has load times between different screen/areas...

PS: I tested the game at e3 2005 for the PSP... Its out on the PS2 and the PC (Japan only) aswell...

The PSOne game, Alundra, would also be a great fit, IMHO.
CFW required, unless it ever actually hits PSN.

Wait, why is it unplayable on normal firmware?

On stock firmware, Ys VI's load times are horrifying and the framerate drops constantly.

I didn't get far into Gurumin. I was hyped for the game, pre-ordered it and I really enjoyed what I played of it. Then I got to the bombed-out monster village and the ugly black/gray rock textures literally made me sick. It reminded of Tomb Raider on PSone where the terrible rock textures made it rather difficult to tell where I was going. I just got really dizzy so I turned off the game, never played it again and sold it a few months later. Perhaps it was because I was playing it on the bus, like most of my PSP games, but I usually don't feel like throwing up.

Judging it as a video game as a whole (meaning not going easy on it because it's impressive for a mid 2000's handheld game) it's alright. In the beginning it's pretty good but it falls apart later on in the game due to some sluggish design. I had to quit because I just couldn't figure out how to get past this one part. It also suffers from "this should be on a console" syndrome.

I just watched the video for this, now I want it! I'll have to pick it up after I finish a few of the PSP games I got now.

I also vote for Alundra with CFW. :P Alundra is one of my favorite ARPGs of all time, actually. It's a really solid game. Better than the DS Zelda title, that's for certain.

I'm playing neopets PSP with my daughter every night before bed... I guess you could say it's kinda like Zelda circa SNES. Really though, don't play this unless you're in my situation.

Alundra with CFW, and Gurumin... I've only played Ys VI via UMD and it was unplayable with the load times.

Monster Hunter.

beaten.

yea, can't recommend MHF2 enough. it's Zelda style in its controls, puzzle items, and weapons (sword, duel blade, bow gun, hammer, etc.) No dungeon puzzles, just all complex bossfight.

and now with the Japanese ad-hoc party beta you can get online, if you've got a ps3
