Is it even canon anymore?
nope, but I think Disney is letting devs still make games based on the universe like with The Old Republic
At the same time I'd actually be happier if we just got a new spiritual successor. Not sure about that, SWTOR is safe because it is set thousands of years before the events of the movies so it doesn't matter.
Games set around the movie dates might be harder to make if they are set in the old EU purely to avoid brand confusion
Which is actually why the fact Disney pulled the story plug on the EU is actually a good thing!I would like a spiritual successor. But the story got kind of silly in the second one.
I'd love to see this franchise return. And, here's the title:
Force Unleashed: Darth Maul
And it could take place after the Clone Wars cartoon so we can see what happened to him.
Is it even canon anymore?
Would like one set just before ANH (so I guess around the time of Rebels or just after) with Ahsoka Tano as the lead, becausewas a terrible thing to do.killing Shaak Ti in TFU
Also because she's not technically a Jedi anymore.
With all the Star Wars news about recently, I can't help but longing for a sequel to Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
I loved 1, and 2 was a bit of a stinker, but the series really had potential.
I'm even thinking of buying a PS3 again just to play the old games with the DLC (Ender, Hoth, Jedi Temple etc).
Just looking at all the Star Wars games that were cancelled (First Assault, Darth Maul game etc) makes me sad.
But a sequel to Star Wars: The Force Unleashed would make me very happy.
Even get rid of Starkiller, reboot the franchise, anything.
I want more Star Wars games in general, but yes, I would like a new Unleashed game.
1 was like Assassin's Creed 1, where it had potential, it just wasn't realized yet. Unlike the AC series which knocked it out of the park, 2 was a big step back - seemed like nothing was learned from the first one.
I think there's still a great opportunity to have a great 3rd person action game in the Star Wars universal. I'd like to play more lightsaber combat games, and I think others do as well.
Shaak Ti dieing is non-canon now since the game was rendered non-canon, so she could show up in rebels at any time. Unless they want to use that deleted scene from episode 3 when greivous kills her.
The high concept is fine. The Starkiller storyline is FUBAR after TFU2 though. (And completely erased in the canon now)
I can't see EA doing that though.
This.I'd much rather have a sequel any other old Star Wars game.
So, even though TFU was supposed to be cannon, they erased it after-the-fact? I didn't realize that!
