Not sure about that, SWTOR is safe because it is set thousands of years before the events of the movies so it doesn't matter.

Games set around the movie dates might be harder to make if they are set in the old EU purely to avoid brand confusion
 
I would love one, but Lucas Arts games division is gone and only serves to license, also the EU is utterly wiped clean.

I wouldn't mind spiritual successor in the new Star Wars Universe, I'd take it over DICE's Battlefront.

At the same time I'd actually be happier if we just got a new spiritual successor.
 
I'd definitely play another one. The first two were pretty games, so I'm sure a next-gen one would have a lot of eye candy.

The gameplay needed some tightening up and revamping. People above have mentioned Platinum. That'd be amazing.
 
there wont be a force unleashed 3 specifically, because the first two arent canon. Only reason the old republic has continued is because they dont want to just drop it and piss of the fans still playing it. But I believe they have said old republic is not canon either. I am really surprised they are even letting Dice allow heroes and villains to be played in certain locations they were never at...Dice has been dodging questions about canon in battlefront like crazy.

I am hoping Viscerals game will be something like force unleashed. But all rumors I have heard are saying its about a young Han Solo
 
I'd love to see this franchise return. And, here's the title:

Force Unleashed: Darth Maul

And it could take place after the Clone Wars cartoon so we can see what happened to him.

there is a canon comic about Maul that takes place after the clone wars...but there is still room after that for more. I would like that

Shaak Ti dieing is non-canon now since the game was rendered non-canon, so she could show up in rebels at any time. Unless they want to use that deleted scene from episode 3 when greivous kills her.
 
Ehhhh

I liked the first FU quite a bit, warts and all, but the second game felt like a half-finished cash in
because it was.

I'm very interested in the single player SW game that Amy Hennig is working on at Visceral, I'm hoping that scratches this itch.

I want more Star Wars games in general, but yes, I would like a new Unleashed game.

1 was like Assassin's Creed 1, where it had potential, it just wasn't realized yet. Unlike the AC series which knocked it out of the park, 2 was a big step back - seemed like nothing was learned from the first one.

I think there's still a great opportunity to have a great 3rd person action game in the Star Wars universal. I'd like to play more lightsaber combat games, and I think others do as well.

I'd actually love a Star Wars game like Assassin's Creed set in Coruscant or something.

Or playing as a Sith Inquisitor.

Or playing as anything basically.

I'm beyond starved for a new Star Wars game.
 
To be honest I wouldn't expect a sequel to any Star Wars game that existed before Disney bought it.
The Force Unleashed was probably the closest game to being canon that was released in the last decade and that isn't canon.
Also Darth Vader has sith assassins (Inquisitors) now that are canon so Starkiller is useless, and chances of us getting a FU3 is highly unlikely.

Knights of the Old Republic, and The Old Republic are also confirmed to not be canon as well. So I wouldn't be holding my breath for any sequels.
We have a better chance of getting a Star Wars rpg that plays a lot like KOTOR but it has a direct relation to the movies.
Jedi Knight is probably dead too because there is no Kyle Katarn, etc. in the new canon.
I also think we have a better chance of getting 1313 brought back since Disney is planning to do a standalone Boba Fett movie.
 
I would love a spiritual successor to Republic Commando! In terms of Force Unleashed, I think the idea of a Jedi action game is always awesome, the implementation just needs to be refined.

TBH, I would love to see a Jedi action game with a combat system that's similar to Ninja Gaiden's. I love the concept of a Jedi being able to easily take down normal enemies easily, but needing to have skill to do it. One or two mistakes and you're dead. The bosses, maybe other Jedi, would be an incredible test of skill. Maybe have it take place during the Jedi hunts?

Overall, though I don't want a direct sequel, or really a game exactly like TFU, the idea of a Jedi action game is still an idea worth pursuing. Just have Itagaki work on the combat engine...don't let him touch character designs or story though!
 
I enjoyed the Force Unleashed games because they were just straight up destructive fun, so I wouldn't mind a third game. However, I'd rather have a new Jedi Knight over everything.

Either way, it was hard to see it happen. She was only truly involved in spinoffs like Clone wars and TFU yet is one of the more interesting background characters. I actually didn't want to complete that mission in TFU. :(

I'm holding out hope that she or Ahsoka are involved with Episode VII-IX somehow. Assuming they don't off them in Rebels, for some stupid reason.
 
As a reboot (new storyline) hell yes.

The Force Unleashed had fantastic core ideas that just lacked a good dev that could polish them up and implement them better. It made it really fun to play with force powers (force push in particular) and had a lot of cool jedi action.
Add come combos to the combat system, better bosses and make platforming better and it could be awesome.

I'd also welcome a new Jedi Knight/Jedi Acadaemy with a better combat system
 
The Jedi Knight series would make more sense to return to, rather than The Force Unleashed. While the first game was decent, the series was ultimately pretty uninteresting imo. It had an interesting idea, but the potential was basically squandered. I would prefer to see a new series set in the new canon timeline after the original trilogy.
 
I would love it if the game had the same LucasArts story team but was developed by Krome Studios, makers of the PSP and Wii game. As cool as Force Unleashed was in concept and design, I could not ever get used to or enjoy the control in the HD game after trying desperately several times (including recently; I did not play much of TFU2) but when I played it on PSP, it all clicked and I loved it.

Coming after the brilliant lightsabre and force combat in Jedi Knight II, The Force Unleashed felt terrible.
Heck, coming after the lightsabre and force combat in Lego Star Wars, The Force Unleashed felt terrible.
 
Not in the style of the other 2, they just felt like shitty watered down God of War wannabe games honestly. If it was something like Jedi Knight 2 then yes definitely, but they need to step it up in terms of combat and level design in a big way.
 
Keep the concept, drop the sub-franchise tag line -- essentially make it a spiritual successor.

A character action game starring a lightsaber/force-user with amazing environmental physics integration would be fantastic, and all it needs is the Star Wars IP to sell (theoretically).

And I swear to god, If Platinum did it -- fuck, man, I don't even -- So good.
 
The second one felt like half a game, if that. It was incredibly disappointing.

Of course I'd rather see KOTOR3 instead if we talking about reviving old Star Wars games
 
After the abysmal second game, I think I'd rather just have an HD remaster of the first one, tightening up the loose bits and maybe squaring the phenomenal story into the current canon.
 
I just want another Star Wars game that made me feel as badass as the first Force Unleashed did. It doesn't have to be a Forced Unleashed game but I don't think I've felt as powerful in any other game as I did in that opening mission of Forced Unleashed as Vader just wrecking every wookiee in sight.

And there was a disturbing satisfaction in lifting someone with a force choke and slowly moving them over the edge of a cliff and just dropping them to their death. Pretty morbid stuff but man was it fun.
 
I would prefer they finish 1313 instead, that game was looking great. I wouldn't mind another Forced Unleashed game though, they were good for a fun romp.
 
I had a great time with both games, but I am really craving another Star Wars RPG to fill the absence of a proper KotOR.
 
There's so much potential for a 3rd or even first person Start Wars action adventure game.

I know it must be difficult but force powers (defensive, offensive, and movement based), blasters, and lightsabers with quality gameplay and story would be amazing.
 
I'm sure there are people who want The Force Unleashed 3, just like there are people who want KOTOR 3. Coincidently, the chances of The Force Unleashed 3 happening are exactly the same as KOTOR 3 happening.
 
Force Unleashed probably got the closest to making you feel like a Jedi/Sith badass and being able to control every aspect of that, so yes.
 
New game that uses the concept of The Force Unleashed and uses Kyle Katarn as the main character to establish him in the official canon.
 
I wouldn't mind a next gen Force Unleashed, I like the Starkiller character. I would prefer a KOTOR3 or another Jedi Academy game though.
 
Yes, I would kill for one. Fuck anyone that thinks they aren't great.

Also we can have Kotor 3 as well people! No need to choose.
