Unfortunately there is a coordinated effort originating from places like voat, 4chan, etc., to cause issues for the potential GAF replacement including discord raids, social media hijacking/harassing/impersonation, doxxing, etc. It's likely that the initial period after it's launch will also be rocky due to this.

Why does the general public deserve an apology when he had a talk with her privately after the fact per the stories that have been published. Some things could have been said better, but he isnt a corporation that needs to make a general statement

Which is all it is.. take advantage of something or someone to benefit themselves and seem like their taking the high ground when many forget they protected who were accusing for how long? News flash... Resetera is still filled with the same type of people who made gamers and devs hate gaf.. maybe without them it will be better.

I don't know what evilore did, nor is it any of my damn business, but being someone who went through a divorce I can certainly tell you there are two sides to every damn story and for some reason everyone always assumes it's the male who fucked up.

My wife used to beat the living shit out of me because I never hit back, I'm talking lunatic breaking down doors while I'm holding the kids to protect them and myself, when I called the cops she head butted the wall and told them I hit her. Yes he was slow and handled it terribly, and he’s paying the price for it no doubt about that.

Imagine being in that situation yourself, you see a shitstorm of that caliber coming from miles away and I’m sure you’ll also be slow to react. Every word you say can be used against you later, so better be sure about what you’re saying before releasing an statement. I guess he’s had many phone calls and meetings during the weekend to make sure what the fuck should be done next.

I honestly think this whole explosive situation could have simply been avoided, had EL just came out and said "Yeah we were drunk. I had a momentary lapse in judgement, we spoke about it afterwards and I apologized to her. She forgave me and we moved on." (assuming the alleged account is true)

...but then, I guess that's the benefit of hindsight though.
