Is this t-shirt ok?

The point is just meant to be a joke though, by exploiting shared letters in a acronym. I certainly understand why, on a person to person scale, someone may take offense to this shirt, but the offense only really works if you associate "Liberty, Guns, Beer, and Trucks" as being "anti-LGBT." Which is not true at all. Rather some people associated with those four things, are anti-LGBT.

If you interpret it that way then sure. But all I'm trying to say is that it doesn't have to be taken that way, and that it could easily just be a joke.

'if you interpret it that way then sure'

lol what is wrong with you

are we living in a world where queer people suddenly have all the same rights as straight people?

Depends upon if you're wearing it ironically or not.

What's the joke?

"exploiting shared letters in an acronym" doesn't sound very jokish to me when we know what the acronym is

That it's funny how a acronym can mean something else then what it means. I really fail to see how it's any different then people using Peta to mean "People eat tasty animals" or FBI to mean "Female body inspector." Though, at least in the case of the Peta one there's a clear and plain to understand stance against what the original acronym means, even if it's still a joke.

Turning LGBT into "Liberty, Guns, Beer, and Trucks" only hardly relates to anything that is clearly or definitely anti-LGBT.

I still don't get what it conveys beyond "I can be ironic about these snowflakes and all these pussies", which is a great way to meet people who'll tell you about globalists, men's rights and anti-white racism.

Edit: Jesus, Mango, I hope you bill the devil by the hour.

PETA is also a pretty fucked up organization and vegetarians aren't an oppressed minority.

Vegetarians and the FBI are oppressed like members of the LGBT community?

What?

Those are all clearly iconography frequently invoked by conservatives who are the ones who push to oppress and oppose LGBT folk

I agree with this. There are fundamental differences between the groups involved, but I don't see how that really changes, the potential, point of the shirt. Granted, I should add that I don't know who or why the shirt was created, merely that I could see how it might be completely harmless in design.

Dude it's blatant iconography used by conservatives. There's no reason to make the shirt beyond to shit on the LGBT community

Shirt is fine and funny.

It's not funny at all nor is it fine.

It's the kind of shirt I would ask the wearer why they bought it and their intentions and I would never get an honest answer from them.

I understand this, but they're also four individual things that are entirely possible to be liked by a member of the LGBT community. If the shirt were clearer in its intentions then I'd say that it's absolutely meant to a "attack" towards LGBT people, but it's not. So at the very least, I'll say that it's a pretty piss poor attempt at being funny regardless of the actual intent behind it.

No. None of these shirts are. If you had empathy you would recognize that immediately.

Even if you did pull the 'it's a joke' defense, that 'gun' is an AK-47. Nobody in the right mind, other than a soon-to-be mass murderer, would EVER require owning, shooting, or even being near a fully automated assault rifle like that. In a video game, sure. In reality, fuck no.

yeah and lgbt people voted for trump too

one lgbt person finding it funny doesn't make it any less of an (in your words) "exploitation"

This is an absurd level of generalization.

I, don't see why you chose to emphasize that word. But ok.

Surely you can't be this dense on the issue at hand? You said it was exploiting an acronym, but that acronym directly stands for people who are being exploited right now hence why I emphasized it. It's exploiting an acronym and a class of people with less rights than people who don't fall in to those letters.

You're bending over backwards to avoid the obvious.

And two other variations have the T meaning tits or Trump....

So spare me the we don't know what it really means.

Oh, yeah ok I get you now. I actually didn't understand why you were placing emphasis on that word. I guess in that sense though, then the shirt is wrong. I still don't think it's a blatant, or as blatant as it could be, attack, but as I said previously I can certainly see why people would take offense to it, and they would be justified.

This is even worse for me than the one in the OP.
