Why does it matter if people meet him in person? He could be the nicest guy in the world but that doesnt change the fact that hes a shitty reviewer.

I actually had a conversation with him about just that. He claims to play towards the casual gamer and their tastes. It is genuinely what he feels but, sure, he amps it up for television and has a lot of fun with it. His High Heat baseball review cracks me up every time.

That's my point, his persona on TV is that he is a jerk, does bad reviews, and hates everything Nintendo. If he is as nice as the forumers say he is in person, then he is doing himself as disfavor by presenting himself to the mainstream with a personality that is radically different than his own.

That is all I said, I didn't even argue against your point.

So your saying his reviews were fake? Somehow I doubt that.

Im sure hes a great guy but I dont see how anyone benefits from simply trying to piss people off.

I don't see how he does "bad reviews". He simply states his opinion and to be honest there were plenty of people harping on Nintendo last generation.

It's sorta like with Matt. Not the Nintendo hating part, but he tends to say a lot of stuff that pisses off people online, but irl, he's a pretty cool duder.

No, I said the persona he developed for the media seems to contradict what people say he really is. He benefits by creating an edgy personality, at the cost of showing a side of himself that tends to rub people the wrong way.

I dont understand. A persona implies he is presenting his reviews differently than how he would actually review the games. So he was either intentionally reviewing games badly to be an asshole, or he was just an asshole to begin with. Either way, we lose.

Everyone who hated him quickly seemed to find respect for him but every time he would venture into the Nintendo boards I believe it would turn into a Piranha fest.
 
He really is a bad reviewer. He was on the boards for one of his shows defending himself against an accusation that he didn't play the games he reviewed by saying they play each game for at least 2 hours! He also got in an argument with a bunch of people after he compared Ninja Gaiden to another ninja game, and said Ninja Gaiden was more stealthy. When someone said there was zero stealth, he mocked them by saying ninjas were stealthy, so of course there was stealth.:lol

Well I remember the G4 show but before that I loved "Electric Playground". They also had Zoe Flower, if I remember correctly.
 
According to imdb he is an uncredited sound designer on Metroid Prime. He did NOT compose the soundtrack. That was Kenji Yamamoto who has done most Metroid games since Super Metroid.

You would need to be impartial for that, and since he got booted from Metroid Prime, he has been on an anti nintendo crusade.

You can't be a good game journalist when you give a game like Viewtifull Joe 4.5/10 because you think the name is silly and that it plays on the gamecube
