Is will.i.am for real

I take it none of you have seen interviews with him before. He's an eccentric and doesn't seem like he's crazy or high. News flash, some people are naturally weird without brainwashing or drugs.

Despite him being a thief he's definitely right about the creative process. Once you hit that creative sweet spot time seems unmeasurable. He could have phrased everything way simpler

Corniest dude on planet earth.

Yes. He's so full of himself too. I saw him on some car show a while ago. His brilliant idea was to weld 2 different year Corvettes together to make it one car. He acted like he just discovered the cure for cancer. It was the kind of car a 10 year old would come up with.

I can confirm , i have done what he talks about (the whole working on something and thinking it was like 4 pm and its like 4 am) It honestly is an exciting experience. I love it because i get so much done and i am in the zone.

He's full of himself yes, but the core of the stuff he says (albeit in his own way since creativity and being in the zone is different to explain for most people) flows well enough on how it is to do creative stuff

He's way over the top with his words tho

I grew up constantly playing the Black Eyed Peas albums before Fergie joined the group.

This makes me really sad. So much talent being wasted.

Edit: I say that since I know where he is coming from. I've spent time making stuff and didn't realize the hours flying by. I just wish he would use that energy on solid music again instead of Top 10 electro pop.

This is amongst one of the stupidest post in a thread dedicated to calling someone stupid. There is no place in my comment where i remotely suggest he was a genius or had high IQ. I simply said he wasn't an idiot and what he said in this video was simple although said in a way to make it seem grander than it actually is. He is also hard working and very charitable.

He's also a thief. Like a modern day Robinhood.

But I don't think what he said is crazy.

It kinda makes sense. basically he's saying we're repurposing pre-existing ideas to make new ones and when you're being creative, time appears to slow down for you but when you come out of that creative bubble, a lot of time has passed. It's like that saying "time flies when you're having fun."

Is he falling victim to Valve Time?

Anybody got a mirror link? For some reason can't access this youtube video from work.

I'd also like to add that I own a nice graphic-t that Will.I.Am used to own and wore for some photo shoots. Fits perfect too. Ya'll jealous I know.
My sister used to work for him and she said he's a really nice guy but he doesn't really care about some of his 'causes' as much as he'd like you to think. I guess that's to be expected though.

Never forget that time when the Black Eyed Peas were actually good. Still sad that they completely changed their sound.
The Black Eyed Peas used to represent everything I love about hip hop, then somehow they represent everything that's terrible about it. Sellout doesn't even begin to explain it. It's like they became a parody and lost themselves in it.

He's right, just didn't explain it well. I've done that where I'm recording a song and then wtf its 4am?
Well, yeah, I think that's the point. He's a normal guy explaining a normal event in a convoluted manner in an attempt to make it sound like something more than it is. It's just humorous in the context of how it's being presented on a show called "American Genius" as if it's supposed to be a sage insight.

That was pretty mild and sensible for will.i.am.

I refuse to give the car he designed any more attention, but if you're curious, you can look up the disaster yourself.

Behind the Front and Bridging the Gap are some of my top albums ever, after that I have no clue who the BEP are. You can tell it was all about the money and as usual, money turns people into weirdos.
