Well, I'm voting for John Tory. He deserves to win, but the people of Ontario are going to probably make the wrong choice tomorrow (AGAIN).

I'm also voting for MMP. It's the way to go.

Why does he deserve to win? lol, he'll be lucky to be elected in his riding haha

And I'm pretty sure the PC's want people to vote AGAINST mmp

Thank Christ I didn't make one of those silly "if the Fiberals get re-elected I'm moving to Quebec!" guarantees, like thousands of Americans did a few years ago who still call that place home. I figured Tory was a long shot before his own goal anyway.

I can't tell you how many people I know in my school who are voting Liberal and yet don't know a fucking thing about their policies, or the policies of their competition. Voting Liberal is like the new Live Strong bracelet.

PCs might. But smart, intelligent, honourable (and might I add very dashing) conservatives like Fatghost know that FPTP has to go.

Plus there is also the fact that more people vote for the Conservatives in Toronto and Vancouver than vote for the NDP and yet win no seats.

Both the Tories and Liberals don't want MMP because then they will actually have to be accountable.

MMP makes it impossible to steal a majority with only 38-40% of the votes, and also now means local issues actually matter. And every vote would count, not just the first 38%.

No way McGuinty would win a majority with MMP with the numbers he's polling now.

Minority governments = good.

Well, the votes are in...

I don't know why the conservatives were telling people to vote against MMP. Were they expecting to win a (FPTP) majority, after Tory shot himself in the foot? Are they hoping to win a 'FPTP majority' sometime in future and then remake the province in their own image?

Even if my preferred political party doesn't win, I really, really hope MMP passes. I think the changes it brings to how politicians are elected, and hopefully how they ACT, will be beneficial to Ontario.

MMP has no chance, it never did
Not enough people understand the question and what it means

Not everyone can be a political scientist :p

And CBC has called the NO side winning very very very easily

Voting liberal has been a tradition for a long time. Since before Trudeau even.

Democracy only works with an informed and engaged population. Frankly, I think voting should be based on getting a license. Want to vote in this election? Read the abstract of the provincial budget and pass a current events exam so you know what the fuck is going on and don't just vote a certain way because someone told you to. Even if that someone happened to be me. :D

The PCs as a party look beyond just this election. MMP would have meant both the PCs and the Liberals would probably never form a majority again.

That's why I voted against it, I read the pamphlet and all I got from it was "you have to vote twice a year!", maybe if it was explained better I would've voted for it.

Anyways, I grudingly voted for the Liberals, only because the Liberal candidate running in our area lives across from our house, I hate McGuinty though.

If only. Then the moronic, mouth breathing, pre-frayed hat wearing idiots would get confused and give up.

Well, I just read up on MMP a bit more and it's a ton better than the system we have right now. My one vote doesn't matter in the long run but I wish it did pass.

Once again.... we're the only part of Ottawa that goes conservative..... *sigh*.

I haven't voted for one winner yet :lol.

I voted NDP for the millionth time and my riding went Liberal all over again.

Federally, but not in provincial politics. The PCs have been governing Ontario for most of the past 50 years. They had 42 consecutive years of rule until 1985.

We did have Bob Rae though haha

Followed by 8 years of *great* PC rule. :lol

I wonder what percentage of PC voters can't name a PC platform idea. I'm betting the number is identical to the Liberal voters.

Fucking faith-based funding

Thankfully it will never happen

There are gonna be some mighty pissed people even though the PC seems to have won here

CTV has called it for Kathleen Wynne

Tory LOSES

Its hard to cheerlead when a bunch of religious douchebags decide to vote based on ONE issue =/

CBC just called it tooooo

I wonder who would replace Tory as PC head. Frank Klees? And is Hampton on his way out too? McGuinty might be the only current leader remaining at the end of this term.

That's MY riding :)

I voted green, and MPP... but I knew neither would win, but hey, every vote counts!

the 50/54% number though, it's much better than the american statistic, is it not?

If Klees becomes the PC leader I will vote green next time.

Tory was great. Why didn't you pick him Ontario? Because of that stupid education non-issue? Shit.

If he was so great then why did he run such a horrible campaign?

He didn't even win a seat!

He gave the Liberals an easy opening so they took it like any smart organization would do

Blame Tory for fucking up

Non-issue?
Fuck religious school funding and fuck Tory.
Glad he lost.

I voted NDP for the first time ever tonight, and I feel good about that, I feel awful however that McGuinty won a majority again despite the fact that he lied, and broke all of his promises from his previous campaign. People are so fucking dense.

BigJonsson said:
He didn't break all his promises
If he had, then he wouldn't have been elected and the province would be in complete disarray

He reneged on his primary campaign slogan of four years ago, and raised my taxes the moment he got into office- as someone who voted for him, and helped him gain his first majority, that's fucking offensive. Lucky for him he had three years to write himself right, and for the most part he did. Great for McGuinty, but I'll be damned if I ever hand him my vote again.

The conservative government withheld information right around the time McGuinty was making those promises regarding taxes.... when he came into power (and finally got a look at the books) the shortfall in cash required a boost in taxes....

The liberals have now made it mandatory to perform an audit and to be completely transparent right before elections.... I believe... I'm too lazy to look it up.

I just remember McGuinty being really fucking pissed that he had to raise taxes so shortly after he got elected.

I voted for dem greens.

woot woot, eight percent baby.

We're moving on up to the east side.

Actually... that's Scarborough.

Bailout!
