It's football season and I couldn't give a shit

Seahawks d looks great this year and looks like we have QB options at last. TO needs a new Sharpie tho.

Unfortunately I work in THAT kind of workplace. The one full of people who worship teams from cities they've probably never even visited, let alone hail from. The one with guys who jerk it to draft picks and possess an arcane knowledge of player stats that dwarfs their knowledge of just about everything else, their jobs included.

Water cooler talk is gonna take a hit the next several months. For the record, I don't hate football. I'm just constantly amazed how into it people can get.

I don't know about this. I'm from Asia and I've been supporting Manchester United for 19 years now. What's wrong with supporting teams that come from places you've never been to before?

Dudes at work try and include in their meathead football talks even though I've told them repeatedly that it's the most boring thing in the world to me. I think it's the only thing I dislike about autumn and winter, tbh.

I enjoy watching football although I probably understand it little more than your stereotypical "chick who doesn't get football". Thankfully I don't work in that kind of environment, but it is kind of alienating to be surrounded by people who probably literally do crank one out to their favorite team and having to avoid football talk as much as possible.

The worst is telling someone I'm from Chicago and, almost as if by reflex, he immediately asks "You a Bears fan?" Fuck off.

I live in Madison, have since 99 and went to college here, but I've never been to a Badgers game. I always tell myself one day I'll get a ticket and go, but it just doesn't happen.

Well, if you are a Liverpool fan, I understand.
Perfect! Hopefully this will apply to United fans later as well. :p

That's different though, since there's not exactly a local team for you to support in the PL. Plus, the majority of Asian fans I know support United, so it's acceptable. I think the point was more people from like, Bolton supporting Arsenal or something like that.

I'd rather hear about sports I don't like than how little johnny is such a special snowflake even though he will likely be an obese highschool dropout who gets a girl pregnant at 16.

I like football and hockey but yea, it's such a huuuuuge time investment, and I don't even look up stats every day like those weirdos! (hehe)

I'm seriously thinking of taking a sabbatical from the Steelers/Pens this year. I know for some this would seem so ridiculous (my two roommates who literally sit around and "study" for fantasy football), but I think I'll get a lot more done.

People who think that you care that they don't like football get right on my tits. If I ask you whi you support, say you don't like football. If I ask you if you're looking forward to the Euros, say that you don't like football. If I'm talking to my friend about the match coming up on Saturday, don't butt in to tell us how stupid we are for liking football

Bandwagon Steeler fans in Ohio are the absolute worst.

They try to justify it by saying, "Oh, my uncle is from Pennsylvania," or, "I'm actually about the same distance from Pittsburgh as I am from Cleveland."

And then you ask them why they're not also Pirates fans, and they just start stammering.

Forward down the field,
A charging team that will not yield.
And when the Blue and Silver wave,
Stand and cheer the brave.
Rah, Rah, Rah.
Go hard, win the game.
With honor you will keep your fame.
Down the field and gain,
A Lion victory!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LIONS

I feel the same way about people from west Georgia that are Auburn fans.

I'm with you OP. This will be my 3rd year in a row without watching a single minute of NFL football. I feel cleansed from the plebism.

The NFL was all fine until fantasy football got really popular. This totally ruined everything as it took my friend's casual fun in watching the sport and turned it into a total gambling like obsession. Fuck the NFL with its 3 minutes of commercials for every 30 seconds of action, talking heads with ultra fat necks stuffed in suits, and idiot fan base.

You sound like you're talking about futball, not 'murican football. I don't know what it's like over there, but in some parts here if you're a guy who doesn't like football (or especially sports in general) you're looked at like you have a second head.

The older I've gotten the more I've grown to love the NFL season. For me, it literally represents the winter. Too cold to go outside much, so Sundays are about football at my house. I'm a Bears fan first and foremost, but I'll watch almost any game that's on. It's the only sport I can do that with.

I'm not even that into Fantasy Football either, so it's not just about that for me. I just love the sport, and watching it on TV is great.

My state doesn't have a team in the NFL or I might enjoy watching.

Oregon does have an NBA team, though. Love watching the Blazers even if they suck.

I do like American football and so do my friends. I'm involved in those fantasy leagues and all that.

Though I'm the only one of my friends who like football and it sucks not being able to talk about it with anyone :(

I'm one of the guys you hate - love football, follow all the news/scores/games/etc.

My old office was awesome because it was full of people like me. We would just trash talk each other all day. My new office sucks because no one watches football. :(
