Yeah, his clapping during the MS conference were very, very embarassing. It sounded like no one was about to clap hands with him.

"So, here's Scene It"

(shows controller, claps hands)

(silence)

(tumbleweeds roll)

I remember him saying at one point if 360 wasn't a profitable venture by 2008 he'd be out of a job. I'm guessing the system failures did his plan in.

I think people don't understand how companies write off expenses like the 1.1 billion. You don't just throw a -1.1B on the spreadsheets. It gets allocated for the repairs, shipping, etc, and you only write it down when you use that money. As a result, those costs won't be dumped onto the 07 fiscal year, they'll be spread from 2006 to 2011(or so). That's why Peetah said they can still be profitable this year.

And I will blow up Redmond if Jeff Bell ever speaks at a conference again.

To be honest Moores job has to be pretty damn rough. He probably has to put up with alot fo shit from his Bosses and I can imagine Gates is probably a whiny little girl when it comes to the xbox.

Of all the execs, I think I like Moore the most. He seems that he's the most in touch with gamers and would be interesting to talk to.

Wow, E3 2007 caused more damage than I thought :lol
You have got to be kidding me.

Yeah, you're right.

Really I'd miss Moore. He was a great figure head, Him/Allard/Kim/Jeff(lolz), Iwata/Miyamoto/Aonuma, Ken/Kaz/Phil really helped shape this generation.

All of them are great in my eyes.

Everyone's going nuts as if this is 100% - check it, rumor.

Until this thing is confirmed, there's nothing to see here... move along.

I'm guessing you'll know more about this rumor by, say, 1:40 PM PDT. That's my guess.

:O

PETER NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Man, he was my favorite of all 360 executives. I walked past him in TImes Square a year ago and never said anything.

Now I'll never get the chance...

Xbox 360 = Dreamcast 2. Confirmed.
EA's now working on plans to make the Dreamcast 3.

Don't you see what a mastermind he is? SEGA's no longer making their own consoles, instead they plant the Peter Moore virus into other companies and force them to make consoles. He's like some sort of blood-sucking paracite.

Or so goes my theory.

Oh I understand how it works but it's still a loss and a huge, huge ****up for the 360 group. Someone has to pay for that mistake.

It seems a strage time to leave. I think it's either bogus or Bill was not happy with the system warranty 1 billion debacle :lol

If this turns out to be true, I think this looks bad on MS's part.
How so? Moore is just moving along. Sure he's going from a high up position to something else(If this is true) But I don't see the problem with it. Microsoft will have a hard time being able to connect with people though like Moore did for sure.

It's not strange at all, Elios. If you had to answer the same question 1,000 times in the span of a month and knew that same question would come up over and over again, you'd probably consider leaving as well.

Actually, they did create a reserve for it for this fiscal year that goes onto the books. As the expenses are incurred, they will book it against those reserves.

They are for the 2007 fiscal year, as expressly stated by Microsoft when they announced it.

Publisher's do the exact same thing for game returns/price protection for when or if they overproduce a game (which happens quite often). And the intent of the reserves is to book it to the correct period for when the sales happen, not when the expense occurs.

I say he should go to Sony just so he's been at every hardware company.
Nintendo -> Sega -> Microsoft -> SONY!

Wait. He worked for Nintendo? How insidious!
First he takes down SEGA, then he clears the way for the Nintendo Wii.
Now he's off to EA. What trickery will he engage in there?

"It's already in the books, MS is already past it, it doesn't even count anymore". [/arne]
