City of Angels is complete shit. It's based off of the German movie Wings of Desire. It's a fantastic film and it doesn't have Nicholas Cage in it. Check it out. It's a thoroughly touching film without being overly sentimental.

Hugh is awesome but Music and Lyrics was shit. It doesnt hold a candle to his best work, About a Boy.

I guess I associate the term chick flick with the romantic comedy genre only basically. I don't really consider About A Boy a romantic comedy, so I don't consider it a chick flick... half of it is depressing as hell. Absolutely love the film version and book though. Likewise, I don't consider Amelie a chick flick. Both of these are just comedic, romantic dramas.

And Music and Lyrics is amazing if only for Pop! Goes My Heart. Off the top of my head, I can't think of a single complaint about the film -- I'd consider it a perfect example of the genre.

I found this big thread on IMDB with the translated internet postings of the guy behind "My Sassy Girl". I really like this movie, I hope by some force of god that this hits hi-def or something.

There's a remake with Elisha Cuthbert that takes place in the midwest US or something. Already sounds like crap. Supposed to come out this year.
