as per other thread, i bought this today - but what i thought was going to be a long night is going to be a VERY long night.
Will let you know how it goes (the game, rather than my boring works stuff!)
Siliconera said:Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy might be a big hit for Square Enix. GetNews reports the Nintendo 3DS game flew off store shelves and sold out as soon as shops opened.
Stealth port begging? Not cool dude!Port-begging being allowed should be decided on a case-by-case basis, so I can make posts about this coming to PSVita without risking it.
Seriously, the game doesn't look so hot, but the idea of FF music game is glorious. Can't wait to hear your impressions.

DCharlie, have you been able to access the DLC at all? I only see a blank page when I connect.
So, S-E... we good to go then for NA?
Oh gosh, I'm such a Final Fantasy music whore. I'd have to buy every single song, regardless of whether or not I actually LIKED it or not. ;-;
I am sure it will be, but I almost hope it's not released worldwide. The reason is simple: Downloading new songs will break my wallet. Normally I am able to avoid DLC but having heard things like Cosmo Canyon, I don't think I could this time.
All according to SE's keikaku. Next step, Romancing Saga Theatrhythm
No. It doesn't.
That has to be the worst title I've ever heard o-
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
-never mind.
Is the DLC thru an ingame shop or from eshop?
I thought that too until I tried the Demo, particularly the second demo.Seriously, the game doesn't look so hot, but the idea of FF music game is glorious. Can't wait to hear your impressions.
Seriously, the game doesn't look so hot,
It's in-game, accessable from the title screen once you've established some data recorded in your save file.
D: So there's no way for an importer to get songs then.
I wouldn't necessarily say that, until somebody tests it. Thus far, it's been possible to buy games from the Wii Shop Channel at a physical location out-of-region, given import hardware.
Yeah, but thats with prepaid cards and whatnot correct? What are the payment options with the ingame shop? CC only? and does it even let you use nintendo points?
It's said to have been sold out in japan, does anyone know how much was the first shipment?
CC transactions aren't region locked on the 3DS plus I'm sure the ingame shop would be tied to your eShop wallet anyway (MM9's shop worked that way on the Wii).
Really? So I could actually buy stuff off the jp 3ds eshop right now with my US CC?
Previously someone reported in this thread the initial shipment was low. 30-40K then?
WOW so the sell out is not to be proud of 30-40 k is very low for a FF title, but as it was a sold out in the first day of sales maybe will have reprints faster =c
Hmm... so there's no straight out Hard difficulty available? I was hoping there would be. You'd probably have to unlock it by playing through other difficulties, I assume.Challenge mode offers individual song sessions on easy and normal difficulties thus far. The Chaos Temple contains pairs of difficult songs that apparently aren't available in story or challenge modes.
Songs unlocked by default...
VIII
Overture
Blue Fields
Walts for the Moon
The Man with the Machine Gun
Ending Theme

From this, if I wanted to play difficult songs, I could only do it in the Chaos Temple? And only select songs? Not sure how to feel about that. Hopefully there's a Hard difficulty to be unlocked as you play, so I guess I'll withhold most of my judgment for now.
And yeah, after being unable to get into the store, it works fine this morning. Surprised to find i had loaded my wallet so could download a track![]()
No The Landing or Force Your Way?
Songs unlocked by default...
VIII
Blue Fields
XII
Clash of Swords
This game has the best art style from Square Enix in years seriously.Seriously, the game doesn't look so hot, but the idea of FF music game is glorious. Can't wait to hear your impressions.
Assuming this gets a US release I will specifically buy a 3DS to play the living hell out of this game and will also buy every DLC. Ouendan style gameplay with FF music is the sweet spot for me right there.

Looks pretty good! The world needs more Ouendan-style games. The amount of my money this game's DLC could consume is a little scary.
It seems very strange to complain about the option for DLC when the game itself has 70+ tracks.
