ps. I've gotten lotsa feedback where folks were like: dude, I imagined you would have had some mondo set up. Yeah, I really don't. I really don't care about stuff like that. I mean, I would LOVE a massive plasma tv and all that but it just seems like a waste of cash when you lose site of it after 20 minutes if the movie/game is good....ah well, to each his own...

While we were there, I popped into the local EB. And then, right after, I took my oldest kid into The Disney Store. What a mistake. I was depressed the rest of the day.

I mean, would it hurt EB to put on an even SEMI professional front for the consumer? Would it hurt if they cleaned the carpet once in a while to remove the stains and the smell of day old nerd sweat? Would it hurt if they had employees who were not forced to try to sell you every fucking thing under the sun as you are in the process of checking out? Would it hurt if it didn’t take 10 minutes for the sales person to find your game, get the manual and place it all in the box? And would it hurt if SOME of the salespeople were not hard core gamers who gave you the evil eye/stupid ass snicker if you actually asked a question that made it clear you were a ‘noob’? And would it hurt if the walls were not 80% filled with semi-damaged used game cases that were covered with unattractive stickers that made the products look like you were buying something at a garage sale?

So that was my EB experience.

Sony pays me really really well...I am very well compensated for my time and work. I'm just not going to spend my cash on stuff I don't really need. I would have to say I'm not your typical American consumer in that I don't want/need alot of material stuff. Sometimes I look around at the rampant consumerism that has totally taken over most Americans and- to be honest- it makes me sick....this culture of NEED and WANT and the desire to just acumulate crap because the pretty chick on the tv commercial tells me I need it....I mean, it's cool to have the latest gadgets and stuff but frankly, it's just not that important to me.

Ok, rant over.

But that said, I'm still a slob and THAT is something I SHOULD do something about :)

I have a maid and she does the best she can. But between me and a 2 year old, by the time she leaves, we have 5-48 hours to mess stuff up again and it don't take long...

I will say that I've been ULTRA amused and surprised by HOW MANY gamers have come down on me for my messy home. I thought all of us gamers were as laid back, casual, and sloppy as me! Who knew there were so many metros playing! Good for you! I wish I could be a metro as I'm sure I'd look alot nicer and stuff but it just seems like SO much work....is it?

Yeah man, that is the greatest 2D shooter ever! It's so freaking nut!

It's basically a bunch of 2D sprites of bald men in silver underwear in this TOTALLY homosexual shooter where they are flying between giant men's legs and you have to fight a bunch of naked guys who have climbed on top of each other and formed a pyramid...it's freaking priceless....so funny! I have NOTHING against homosexuals at all...not at all, but let me just say this: this game is so gay they must have developed it up on Brokeback Mountain cause it's just dripping with the gay....man it's amazing they made this thing!
