oh that's harsh.

Maybe it's grounded in reason, but aside from game announcement threads for exclusives, it's also the most embittered, fanboy ridden stuff on the board. It's not necessarily a comment on the posters that genuinely enjoy that stuff, but without a doubt a shitstorm is in those threads on every occasion.

My favorite threads are LTTP threads and official game threads.

It's also probably the part of GAF's gaming side that has the least to do with, you know, games. "Reason" be damned, game related threads shit all over sales-age tripe in terms of relevance to games.

So....Doom gets banned for attempting to derail the thread with FUD, but it was the Banning that ultimately shot this thread so far PAST Derailed, that we're now sitting in another state?

That's quite possibly the most optimistic evaluation I've ever seen of Sales-Age. I'll grant you that the first half of those threads are better than the last half. Unfortunately the last half is usually where you can find the absolute worst of NeoGAF.

Meh, I apologize for flying off the handle. Reckon I'll take a couple days break from GAF so I don't redirect any other frustration where it doesn't belong.
 
Soooooo, back on topic?

Do you figure Jaffe will just leave Sony for his own independant company or will it be a sort of sub-division of Sony?

Personally, I'd say it'll be a sub-division since he's still attached to Sony after stating numerous times that he's grateful for Sony's involvement in his various projects and career.

Also, the issue he brought up about game creators and artists not seeing enough 'green' out of their hardwork that established multi-million dollars IPs for these huge companies may have been a decisive factor in this choice.

What thinks you?
 
well, at least what i know is that Jaffe is still working for Sony, but he's going to own and operate an independent dev house that'll make games for multiple platforms

Well, first, he was banned for a few months thanks to a complete meltdown over Okami - something about him not liking it and then when GAFfers tried to debate it with him he blew up.

Then, when he was unbanned, he dragged up the stinking topic that everyone wanted forgotten again for the purposes of apologizing or something. I stayed well clear of things after that, but something went down in that thread that got him perma'd.

Mmmkay, do you see anyone else that's "straggling"? I know of at least a few other people.

Edit: And I do think Himu should be given an extra chance, he was a good guy. He's even trolled me sometimes and I'd still support parole for himu. But enough about that!
 
I don't keep a note of these things any more but there are one or two guys who can't help themselves. I felt really bad about AirRaid though, so I'm not naming names.

He didn't deserve the ban, sure he would quote that Blue Ocean book in every single sales-age thread, but most of the time he did contribute and i don't think i ever saw him troll or have a meltdown.
