Just in case there was any doubt.

Not sure how to read into this MS PR. They must be spinning this some way!

Xbox was top selling console (physically as it is stocked on shelves above PS4)

Your missing the point. I don't think a lot of people trust the CC information with Sony thus they buy a voucher from AMZN or GS and redeem the code for credit to their account, they then use this credit to buy games.

Sony has a torrid history of security, and I don't think people trust them at all.

I have a feeling that XBO users are willing to put their Paypal or CC information on MS' servers. MS' gift cards barely chart other than the $10 one.

Actually, you're missing his point: that you buy digital content with that money, no matter the reason that you buy the card in the first place.

You could either buy the physical game from Amazon and have them ship it to you, or you could buy the digital code from Amazon (for whatever reason, it doesn't matter), and you get digital content.

I personally don't think that PS4 has a higher attach rate, but you're missing the point he is making.

If we extrapolate from my own personal buying history, the PS4 sold best because everyone is beating down store doors to buy their copy of Putty Squad. The Sage of Western New York™ has spoken. I assume my checks are in the mail?

His point is that PS4 has higher digital sales because Amazon shows more Sony gift cards than MS gift cards. My point is that I would expect Sony to have more sales of gift cards than MS due to the lack of CC security.

Ah. Those points aren't contradictory, though. They can both be true.

I'm just give the idea why some people think PSN sale more.
Like me, I think too.

No matter how's security. I mean the sake, there was $10, $20 $50 $100 in the chart almost every month. Which enough to me that PSN is massive market and I could see it might be bigger than Xbox digital.

Annnnd thus returns the status quo.

Shocking!

I wonder if MS will attempt/manage a similar claw back with give-aways and price slashes next Christmas? The fact they cut to the bone and still couldn't hold a sales advantage for long this time, even with making the price cut permenant, has got to be hurting them.

I'm really surprised MS has fell behind again what with the price cut/cheaper system and the PS4 still being able to beat it. I really thought at that price point and the Christmas months sales momentum win would have kept it in the lead. And with no exclusive game coming until...? I'm guessing we're going to be seeing even more promotions and temp price drops to try and tempt people like they did last year. Except this time there's no Titanfall.
