Amazon.co.jp have pretty good offers on PS3 games.

I have ordered many a game from Amazon here in Japan before. But seldom for release day. This time I was pondering pre-ordering a few PS3 titles. Have you ever had stuff on release day from Japanese Amazon? Any other alternatives?

For online shopping, I usually use Play Asia (unless the mark up is hellacious), or Tsutaya online.

Tsutaya is damn reliable, and it has conbini payment like Amazon, if you don't have a JP credit card.

For games they are very good with sending it out, though you should probably get your games wherever you get your PS3 system, but for the PS3 system itself you may have some problems.

I've read that Amazon Japan were getting an incredibly small amount of PS3s. An Amazon staff wrote on his blog that they finally got contact from SCE, and they they found their allocation was low, way too low.

Allocation wise, Tsutaya and Rakuten, I've heard from friends, are far far better. Hopefully that's true, as Amazon's allocation is laughable.

All makes sense. Thanks. I already got the system booked and good to pick up on rel. day. But thought I'd try to save a few thousand Yen on buying the games through Amazon. I think the interface alone (and online stuff) should keep me busy (Motorstorm demo?!), even if the soft is late from Amazon. So I'll probably just take the plunge and order. (BTW they do accept foreign registered creditcards as long as the address is correct).

For you guys who are still looking to order or buying the actual system online. I think it is nearly impossible. My recommendation is to check smaller shops further from Akihabara... Shinjyuku, Akihabara are usually the worst when it comes to early morning queuing.

Provided my preorder gets me a system on launch day, definitely Resistance, and maybe one other game. I'm not totally aware of what the JP launch line up is yet.

Trin, there's not too much hitting on launch day that really seems worth it. I'm kind of glad, since that means if I can't get a system, I really won't care too much. :lol

If I can get one launch day (I have one reserved at the local shop, but I'm number seven on the list), probably just Ridge Racer 7 and Resistance to start with, maybe THE ATTACK FOR MASSIVE DAMAGE game too. I'm interested in Motorstorm and might import Untold Legends from the U.S. if it gets good feedback.
