Jeff Rubenstein (former Sony) joins Xbox team

This is not important, nothing to see here, nothing happened, who is this guy?, this is clearly not important. Did I mention this is not a big deal?

Do you even know who that is?
Jeff was amazing for the Playststion brand. Created the hugely popular Playststion Blog, started the Blogcast, spear headed awesome community events for Playstation.
This is a pretty big deal.
Don't be salty about it.
 
Good luck, I remember seen him in video on near every E3 year.

Was he in last E3? I don't remember him in here.
 
Honestly, he's done quite a bit for the PS BLog and Playstation. During E3 events, he's been the face, helped Ray and Sid and the rest of the blog folks really get out there and look like they have fun doing what they do and help present news/do cool events.

If he can do the same for MS, then he can really get some good public perception going for them. It's a big scoop.

Of course, in 2 years time, he and Phil will unleash the final stage of their plan and MS Xbox will crumble from within.

Eh, I didn't follow any of that much. I'm only picking up a Sony device this month :P
 
I miss him on the PS Blogcast. Microsoft needs to have him at every major event

Major Nelson is not the best face for Xbox, hopefully he takes his role
 
Jeff did an amazing job at Sony and I have no doubt he'll continue to do the same with Microsoft. He's one of the good guys.

I did not wish to come of as demeaning to Rubenstein, I'm sure he's done great work and will continue to do so. At some level it's moves like these that make good companies great. Acquiring the best talent from competitors is alpha and omega in business and kudos to Microsoft for doing so. But not every talented individual can alter the fortunes of a company, nor am I expecting Rubenstein to do so.

With that said his hire is a sign of the continuing effort of Microsoft to improve PR after the massive screw-up that was Xbox 180.
 
There are some seriously defensive people in this thread. Holy shit, get a life.
 
dang... he used to be THE face of the playstation blog and community relations in general. he was at every trade show, doing all the preview and interview vids... super big playstation guy... now he's just jumped over? cray.

i don't know if i could switch sides that easily. i know once he left playstation he wasn't doing anything game industry related (afaik) so maybe he hit a rough patch and needed work?

Think he worked at Tapjoy for a bit. At least that's what I remember.

And I have a hell of a lot of time for the guy, so it sucks for me - because I can't see myself following Xbox One specific media.
