Jena Malone as Robin in Batman vs Superman?

Good casting.

But fuck if this movie isn't going to be seventeen hours long damn.

Why? Does every character in here need their own 10 minute monologue? They'll all be fleshed out in later films. This still belongs to superman and batman. It will be 2:30 max

A cop out that was in the comics?

Why? They've been unapolagetic about the film being inspired by TDKR, and Carrie Kelly was Robin in that story.

How so? The story the movie is borrowing from had a female Robin.

I get that it may be from a comic(not that that matters at all), but it seems like more of a way to sidestep the cheesy reputation(and uncomfortable undertones) that a boy wonder brings.

If they were that worried about it, they wouldn't do Robin at all or would jump straight to Nightwing. Female Robin is just Synder's love of TDKR showing again.

I'm cool with it. Snyder bringing in characters that otherwise had no shot of being portrayed in live action.

Well sure if you ignore the comic Synder is taking cues from then you could reach that conclusion i suppose.

That's who it is, couldn't place her. She is very cute.

On the top of my head she's also in Pride and Prejudice, Contact, Hunger Games, and that baseball movie with Kevin Costner where he is a pitcher.

I think she's a great fit for this role. Very cute.

Well I guess as long as they establish that there were other Robins first I don't mind, even if it's just in passing. Would have liked to have seen Tim. Not the biggest Jason Todd fan. Dick, while I think he's cool, has been done. Stephanie was Robin for like a week. Damian would have probably required too much explanation about who he is.

It really does make sense that they're going this route since they're drawing so heavily from DKR, I just thought it was supposed to be more subtle. I've been out of the loop for this movie though so maybe I heard some old information.

Or maybe it's because the carrie Robin is easily one of the most popular versions of Robin in Batman history....

I don't have a problem with a female Robin but man you've got to wonder how the fuck this movie is going to introduce all this stuff.

fuck it

Cast Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish, Vanessa Hudgens and Jamie Chung

Batman vs Superman: Sucker Punch 2 electric boogaloo

At this point I'm assuming Warner Bros is just saying, "Who else might we someday do something with? Perhaps maybe?" And DC is like, "Well, Marvel has introduced 30 characters into its film universe. We could catch up by having random folks cameo throughout the superhero phone book know as Batman vs Superman."

And, meanwhile, there's a poor screenwriter having to rewrite every damn scene to include people as DC / Warner Bros brainstorms.

Maybe they're going for the old Superfriends team in Justice League, with Flash and Cyborg replacing Wendy and Marvin.

I'd rather her be Barbara/Batgirl. I'd rather they get the meaningful long-lasting Robins right first than a one-off elseworld character. Carrie Kelly was fine for the story she was in, but can't we see the Robins that are actually relevant like Dick, or Tim? The ideal would be Dick is Nightwing, a memorial to Jason Todd, and Tim is in the suit. And once they get to a new Batman solo series, they can introduce Damian eventually.

I like the actress and I like the character, but if they're going to do Robin, I'd rather they not use Carrie.

Has it been brought up yet that there's no chance in hell that an extra got access to the script of the movie? Cause they didn't. My friend filmed two scenes back in July at somewhat separate sets and when I asked them about how it all worked, they said there was no way they could see scripts or talk to any of the main production people unless Synder himself asked for them.
