Jerry Bruckheimer Games, (-_-)

The new studio will be steered by former Microsoft exec and Halo 3 executive producer

MTV and Hollywood movie baron Jerry Bruckheimer made their union official this morning, lifting the 17-month shroud of secrecy off their joint venture, oh-so-creatively dubbed Jerry Bruckheimer Games. The new studio will be steered by former Microsoft exec and Halo 3 executive producer, Jim Veevaert, as the company's president of production. Veevaert will share the wheel with Jay Cohen, who joined the studio in March, his role now revealed as the company's president of development.

What Cohen and company will be developing exactly, however, remains a mystery, with the studio saying only that it will create original IPs that "convey and reflect the high standards of entertainment value set by Jerry Bruckheimer." For fans of shaky cams and explosions, one thing's for certain -- finally there's a studio out there with your best interests at heart.

Makes sense. He's already conquerd movies and t.v. so this was the next obvious move. And as long as the games are entertaining as his movies, i see no problem with this.

screw you guys. bruckheimer is great. the worst stuff he has ever been attached to was a direct result of Michael Bay.

simpson/bruckheimer was the greatest thing that happened to the movies in the 80s.

RIP Don Simpson

Considering Black Hawk Down, Pearl Harbour, Bad Boys, National Treasure, Pirates etc all play out in scenes that are like videogame set-pieces, and some of those have almost certainly been influenced by or influenced videogame production since, it'll probably work out A-okay. Especially if it diverts his attention away from producing such movies.*

*I would welcome moar Bad Boys tho.

So we can expect some gritty actiony first and third person shooters that aren't entirely brown and grey?

Things are looking up!

You missed the absolute drivel that is CSI and Cold Case?

All the high concept ideas for games have already been taken though:
Guy with gun kills people
Guy with sword kills people
Guy in car kills people
Guy kills people both in and out of a car
Guy gets killed and is then resurrected and proceeds to kill people
Guy is trapped by natural disaster, then kills people
Guy kills people... in space
Guy kills people...in the past
Guy kills people...in the future
Guy kills aliens/robots/dinosaurs/angels/phantasms/blobs/blocks

Doesn't leave a lot to work with, maybe CSI...in space.

Bruckheimer just wants a piece of the pie.

Alright. It's not like his films aren't less ludicrous or better written than 99% of the video games that have been produced until now.

Or are you guys really going to act like Bruckheimer isn't better than this?
