Jet Set Radio full tracklist revealed

It is so weird how so many people think that Birthday Cake is in the Original game.

Many comments also include JSRF hate as well as saying the best song is Birthday Cake. Makes me wonder.

All I need is Deavid Soul and I'm good to go!

Actually: I'd need Guitar Vader, too. Super Brothers is the greatest sewer-rompin' song ever applied to a game soundtrack. Ever.

Not just those guys, though. All of the product-placement that defined the turn-of-the-millennium style of the originals would cost a good amount of money to license, I'd imagine.

Aisle 10 is JSRF's Dragula. That's right. I don't understand why anybody could like it, and it makes me want to stop playing whenever I hear it.

I couldn't care less if the US-only tracks from JSR made it in, but it looks like they're there. I'm just completely stoked that OK House made it in. It's the first track I remember from playing the game, and it carries the flavor of bizarre urban future melange perfectly.

I just watched the trailer. Man, that looks great. This and Tony Hawk are going to make my entire summer. I just hope it comes out soon.... and we get a Shenmue XBLA announcement soon/

Sega done good here. I'm definitely considering a double dip just to reward them. I hope it does well so they might consider JSRF and a sequel. :)

Rather bizarre that Yappie Feet was left out of the Deavid Soul selection - it's from the same album as all the Deavid Soul tracks. Unless they simply just could not afford to license one more song.

Other than that omission, this is totally awesome.

This track is heard in the trailer - it's in the game, despite not being listed, which raises hope for Yappie Feet too.
Ignore this post, it was Funky Plucker I was hearing!

Edit: From the Sega blog:
Presently both Yappy Feet and Many Styles are the two songs not listed in the tracklist. Sorry, we re-negotiated all of the contracts (quite a feat btw) for all of the songs and these two didn’t make it. If this changes, we would be just as happy as you would, trust us – we’re all super excited to have this list.

My hunch - Perhaps Soul couldn't get the rights to use the vocal samples (as heard in Yappie Feet) again.

This is a true labor of love. Some really passionate people must be working on this game. Props to Sega for doing something right.

This is how you fucking do it. Goddamn I can't wait for this. If only it were JSRF...then I'd really be losing my shit.
They certainly showed up Activision and their shitty half-assed Tony Hawk HD soundtrack.

This is seriously great news. My only fear now is that I get the job I want and start working in the Arctic Circle before I have a purchase and download it. I haven't looked up wether my XBL account will be kosher in northern Greenland.
Just release the game already!!!

Many Styles is completely new to me. I own the JSR soundtrack, and that's not on there.

I can't say I'll mourn it's loss. Not only do I have no attachment to it having never heard it before now, but having just listened to it on YouTube, it's just not that good.

Yappie Feet will be missed, as it's a great song, but at least it wasn't one of the very best tracks. And considering I expected there to be a lot more casualities in regards to how many got cut, I'd say we got off extremely well.

On a side-note, if Sega's recent effort with porting older titles is a result of them streamlining a lot of their operations (cancelling a lot of their games, and focusing more on the big-sellers), then I'm all for it. I think that could also the reason we're getting Sonic & All-Stars Racing this year.

This is my guess, the sampling used was an issue.

But damn, I am impressed with how far Sega went. I'm actually surprised they got the US tracks even, I figured those would be prohibitively expensive. And including the exclusive tracks from other regions into one uber-soundtrack, it's shocking how much love and care are going into their digital releases lately. (Especially when you look at the state Sonic Adventure XBLA/PSN was released in, not too long ago.)

And screw the haters, I'm happy Dragula is there. It only played in Grind City I think, so it's easy to avoid, and it kind of cheeses up the "American" stages in a fun way.

Last thing I'm hoping for: swap to Cube's original costume by holding a button while selecting, like how you could select maskless Poison Jam in De La JSR.

Shame about Yappie Feet, but I can live with every track except one.

I wonder if there will be an option to cut individual songs from the playlist... I can't stand Dragula, it doesn't belong in the game at all.

Sega are finally getting their act together with porting/emulating the classics. Thank the lord (Nagoshi).

SEGA is amazing on digital only front from from quite a while. They released incredible versions of Daytona USA and HOTD 3&4, very good port of Space Channel 5 P2 and latest SEGA Vintage Collection is also a good release.

I can't understand why there's so much hate toward SEGA the last couple of years, when they are one of the best (and risky) publishers this generations, software wise.

Their marketing in the WEST is quite, quite terrible, yes, but their portfolio for older gamer's is quite amazing.

Of course, with this OST JSR is day one for me, after my DC died a couple a years ago.

They were happy for several years to let Backbone fart out poor Genesis emulation as their digital download titles. SA DX was a bad port of the PC version, which was a port of the Gamecube version, which was a port of the Dreamcast version. I mean it runs with borders, at 640x480 resolution, and it still has framerate issues, on modern consoles. This is a Dreamcast game at heart, maybe Gamecube if you're generous.

This isn't about Sega's release catalog as a whole (that's a completely different subject), simply that they've clearly stepped up their DD game, and we appreciate it.

Sweet Soul Brotheeeeer!

OMFG I just LOVE here, I must admit: I tought for very long that I was the only one CRAZY about JSR/JSRF and its soundtracks.

<3 Thank you SEGA, finally showing some love for me!

You have made a powerless this day, sir!

Yeah, it looks great, and I hope they have a more specfic date than "summer" at E3.

I feel Shenmue could also benefit a lot from the cleanup this got. (less pop-in, better controls etc.)

"Only Yappie Feet?" I thought to myself, "that's great!"

Then I youtube it and of course, it was my favorite song on the OST :( My guess is that they couldn't clear the rights to the samples in that song.

Oh well, still gonna get this.

I checked the soundtrack that came with it and it is not listed. What I'm thinking is that maybe Birthday Cake was available in the demo but cut out of the final product. It's the only thing I can think of because I have never owned or played the Xbox game and I distinctly remember the song playing in the background.

Actually, I consider Space Channel 5 Part 2 to be the last of their on-the-cheap releases. It's a competent port, but it's still rendering at a less-than-HD resolution like the three other initial Dreamcast releases. You can just tell they cut corners and used cheap labor.

I acknowledge Daytona as an awesome one, but they need to build up a streak of releases that go above and beyond. Sonic CD was another big step. Like you mentioned, House of the Dead 3 and 4. And now the floodgates have opened with the four new vintage collections, Jet Set Radio, and Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown. I imagine Sonic Adventure 2 will go the same way. This is COOL.

It's finally starting to seem like quality digital releases are the new status quo at Sega, instead of anomalies (After Burner Climax, Virtual On: OT).

Don't forget Rez HD. Though I'm not sure how much SEGA was a part of that.

Though it is Sega's game, their name isn't featured prominently on it at all. I don't think they were involved much. It was Mizuguchi who wanted to re-release the game, so he and Q Entertainment were able to license it from Sega, and they had another company (Hexadrive) port it with the care and respect it deserved.

Magical Girl, 'Bout the City, and Improvise were really the biggest must-haves from the start, even though I tried to pretend I could handle losing Improvise. Also, Miller Ball Breakers, Super Brothers, OK House, Everybody Jump Around, Sweet Soul Brother, That's Enough...

It's rare that I buy a game to 'support' it. But I'm going to have to this time. I loved JSRF and it's a real tragedy that Sega let such talented game creators slip away. They should make more games like this.

I'll be really sad if it's just a cheap cash in and nothing comes of it.

As good as it is that most of the songs are intact, this is still overall shitty news since Yappie Feet didn't make it - which is one of my favourites and the song I most associate with the game. Gah! : (

Nice track retention. Now if Sega would lose Dragula and replace it with Birthday Cake and Concept of Love from JSRF that would make for the best version of Jet Set Radio and hard as fuck nipples.
