Jet Set Radio XBLA/PSN

What fantastic news to wake up to. And the original over the sequel? Am I sure I'm not dreaming?

They've already got the DC emulation setup in place so it's easier to take the DC version instead of porting the Xbox version.

I loved JSRF but never played the original. How do they compare?

The spray mechanic in the original is 1000x better. However Future has an overall better open world imo.

this is AWESOME. the game should look quite nice in HD too. hope it stands up well to what i remember from it

The original? Meh. I would kill to play JSRF in HD though, too bad there's no working Xbox emulator.

I'm actually pretty glad it's the original. Haven't had any options to play it in over 10 years, while there's no shortages of jsrf copies -- it was a damn pack-in -- that work just fine on the 360.

No JSRF, so I'm not interested. With this port many people will realize how badly the original JSR has aged.

TURN IN THE DISHES AND BURN THROUGH THE WISHES AND SALMON IN THE MASHED UP POT

DRAGULAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

That was only in the North American version.

Regardless, licensing issues should ensure Dragula won't be in this.

JSR is 10 times the game that boring, piss-easy JSRF is.

Holy shit! I just dug this game out after 10 years and started playing it again a couple of days ago too! I guess I'll hold off on finishing and wait for this! :D

I wonder if they will fix the floaty physics.

Also, didn't this leak like two years ago, or was that a hoax?

Sort of, this was from two years ago:

Has anyone mentioned the other games? Why does the PSN seem to have more than XBL, Ecoo, F355, Headhunter and Space Channel 5 aren't on XBL but they are up on PSN...

Hopefully something more interesting than a port comes from the JSR and ChuChu trademark activity recently.

For reference, he had a debug PS3 or something.

The only one that kinda came true was SC5 (but it's part 2, not the original one).

I'll double dip if the game gets widescreen support, the lack of it in the Soul Caliber 1 port really bugged me.

Happy to see the series get some attention from SEGA though.

SEGA YOU JUST MADE MY FUCKING DAY.

I think I can finally send my Dreamcast to greener pastures now. :L

This was one of the only games I was holding onto it for.

Awesome news. Will buy day 1.

I played them both back to back and the original was better. I particularly missed the motions for the sprays in the sequel.

Well, they're going to get my money. I have two copies of JSRF but one of Jet Set Radio. And my Dreamcast's laser is loud and annoying as hell, so playing off the 360 HDD will be beautiful.

JSR/JGR is focused on skill with the tagging mini-game and escaping from the various threats homing in on you via rails and rooftops on the map versus the more laid back platforming/collectathon angle that JSRF goes in. If JSRF had the original tagging element restored and updated while including the JSR-like threats on the map, I think it would be the best installment in the series.

most of the music was written for the game
but yeah, i guess we should be worried about the licensed stuff

Also, it was a pretty mediocre port.
Based on that and Sonic Adventure's ports, I wouldn't immediately tuck your Dreamcasts away.

I just had a terrible, terrible thought. The Crazy Taxi port lost the Offspring soundtrack. What if...

No, I just can't bring myself to type it. Please excuse me.
