Jet Set Radio XBLA/PSN

Space Channel 5 was unplayable on PC. The up arrow did both down AND up actions. Also it didn't even save your settings. An awful port all around. Please learn from your mistakes, Sega. They typically do very well on the PC in terms of support and quality.

Are you SURE that wasn't just user error?

Am way hyped on this. It's the best news I've heard all year.

I'm in for sure either way but some screenshots or something would be reassuring. I'm only worried because it's my favorite game. Usually I wouldn't bother with ports.

Well, I dunno boy, but it saves my settings alright. Also it didn't do the Up and Down-thing you described.

It plays very well.
Btw, I got it on Steam.

Kinda interesting that this was announced at Jet Set Radio Future's 10th Anniversary.

I won't play it if the original music won't be in it , the music was the main appeal to me. I can understand if the U.S. exclusive stuff like Dragula wasn't in it.

I have no faith in Sega since they couldn't even put "Toot Toot Sonic Warrior" and "Believe in yourself" in Sonic CD.

I played JSRF last summer, I had a blast even if control and mechanics feel really odd compared to modern games. Could never finish it because of lack of mission objectives or indications though.

Might look into JGR then

Niiiiice. Put this on Steam and you've got yourself a sale, Sega.

Maybe I'm alone in wanting the soundtrack gutted? The American tracks were awful, Cibo Matto aside. If it was cringe-worthy to me as a young teen I can't imagine how unbearable some of that stuff would be now. The original tracks were fucking awesome though, my friend used to have the soundtrack. One of the few videogame soundtracks I could listen to like any other album.

If you have the hardware to run it then I'd highly recommend it. 1920x1080 and 4xAA

Aren't analog controls borked in this emulator, thus preventing you from tagging? I tried to replay the game this way a couple of years ago, but it was rendered unplayable by the lack of analog. Widescreen mode was also somewhat glitchy, so a proper HD release would still represent the ideal way to play it.

what?

he's trolling, right???
More than likely it's a joke, but you never know. There are quite a bit of people out there who absolutely hate cel-shaded graphics. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if he meant it.

It's about time for me to play it again. I run through Future and complete the game game/unlock everyone annually.

Nope analog controls with a 360 controller work great. Makes the tagging feel pretty smooth and easy actually. Widescreen is kind of funny looking during the loading screens but gameplay looks perfect

Well, we don't even know if Sega will offer proper widescreen support for the port. I'd love for it to happen, but I've been burned in past by Sega when it comes to DC re-releases.

so, i never really was sure about this, did the japanese version of the game just have a way smaller soundtrack? or did we miss out on a lot of awesome naganuma songs cuz they were replaced with western stuff?

Japan version had fewer songs, fewer characters, and fewer levels (specific songs corresponded to specific missions, like Cube and Combo's flashback levels that only appeared in the western releases).

I woud like to see this costume.

edit: I warn you, don't go googling around looking for this. I want my eyes back.

Just to save people from doing the same thing, Blame Space posted her official artwork with it earlier:

I don't have an in-game shot of it to hand though. I just did a Google image search for one, and, uh... yeah, Safesearch didn't catch that.

The past few days have just been a flood of great news, for once... 999 sequel US release, Last Story, and now this.

Would you stop?
W-w-w-w-would you stop
I'm trying to get to
I'm trying to get to
