Since we're on the subject...

How the hell i can buy something from STEAM without having a credit card or international debit carD ???

Steam accepts Paypal. Have you tried that?

:lol @ thread title edit. So yeah just get them from maximus cards like the rest of us.

Sony doesn't have a Pakistan store either, that doesn't mean I go calling them anti Pakistani or anti Muslim lol.

Hope this isn't too off-topic, but what's the best place to pick up Japanese PSN cards (I'm in the USA).

Ebay?

That's it, we are now officially concerned for you Jett.
You get your ass to a walmart and get a blood pressure check right now!

What if you dont have a credit card or International Debit Card? (Like me)

Get someone on GAF to buy one for you and you mail them the cash (plus a little extra for expenses?).

I mean, it's not like it's IMPOSSIBLE to get a PSN cash card and redeem it if they are starting to block credit/debit cards.

And that's why i left my USA account opened even tough i only lived there for six months... i was terrified of the concept of not being able to use PSN, so i left money on my account and i can transfer from paypal when i need to.

I don't know what i will do once the current card expires.

I guess overpriced cards on ebay.

I still have to try the American Express thing. I heard those cards work on PSN, so i'll try to get one.

It really sucks, they just don't want our money. God forbid if we want to buy stuff from them. As a Latin American, i've learned that from stupid reasons, they (sony, amazon, etc...) will do whatever they can to stop us from getting USA products.

Thank god there are things like ebay and paypal.

My biggest fear is the day they start blocking PSN due to IP's like they do with video.

I will seriously kill someone at sony if they do this. (not really but you get the point).

Things like these makes me glad Puerto Rico is US territory. Then again we get shafted time and time again by sweet deals in some stores not being available in PR.

More than that:
1. Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo didn't included Puerto Rico; not even as a separate country; till people (at their respective launches) complained to them.

2. Sony and Microsoft don't accept most of the credit cards from PR (even from certified banks in the US, like Banco Popular). Nintendo accepts them all at least; though is more related to the bank.

3. Sometimes in their contests, depending on what they need PR is part of the US. If it is about paying them no problem, if it's about them sending something "for free" it doesn't count. (Nintnedo still sends free Club Nintendo thingies)

4. Other times, companies are just ignroant when it comes to PR. EA had problems back then, when it came for them to send the guitar replacements for Rock Band, because they thought that postal carriers like USPS, UPS, FedEx didn't existed here. A friend of mine had to sent them a link to USPS.com showing that they had carriers over here. It was then, when they sent him a guitar.

5. Similar debacle with Activision. They've been reported as "false advertisement", because of the Free Van Halen offer in GH5 and Free Prototype in Singularity, didn't included PR; even when the stickers were all over the boxes. When asked about it, they said they couldn't do nothing about it ; because "is the law" (even when they haven't said which law); yet is not like it's free since there is a $5 fee for shipping in any case. In contrast, THQ had no problems sending the Red Faction Guerilla because of their Darksiders offer.

Among other things.. :p

PSN is a bitch with accepting any of my cards here in PR though. Can't buy shit because it's never approved. Wtf...

I thought I was the only one... Dumbass Sony. How ironic that I have no problems with buying points on the Wii :lol

It's only partially game related, but you forgot the good ol game of "do they ship to PR or not?" game when shopping online.

Btw Amazon doubled their shipping charges over here, $10 for a fucking game, $9 for a Blu-Ray, ojala los viole un toro!

No problems with Amazon here...get Free Shipping with them. When I ordered the Tekken 6 Stick, they sent it through UPS, for free..in 2 days. Same with a GH guitar I ordered, though they sent that through FedEx..but free anyway. :D

Go put a game on your cart now and come back and tell me the S&H price, it should 9.98 for Wii, PS360. Its a recent thing. Hardware has always been cheaper though, I remember they charged $5 shipping for gunmetal gray PS3 and it got here in 2 days with UPS. They send games/blu rays via USPS.

Edit: Unless Amazon Prime works now? Because I remember some years ago I did the trial but it made no difference here.

I agree with Jett. I'm an Australian and I've been using entropay to buy from the US store, since we're getting price gouged over here. Now that entropay isn't allowed I've went from buying a few things per week to pretty much nothing.

The fuck dude?

AFAIK Entropay cards are not accepted on PSN for a while, I remember when they rejected mine like a year and a half ago...

*Si no mal recuerdo las tarjetas de Entrpay no son aceptadas en PSN desde hace bastante tiempo, ellos rechazaron la mia hace como año y medio.

No Amazon Prime, have considered it though:

Maybe they'll change it soon to my account, since people I know have told me about the changes; so maybe is incoming. :lol

:lol :lol
I did sacrificed a few babies, maybe that helped.

I've thankfully have ever had any problems with PSN purchases. before PSN network cards existed, I bought American Express $20-$30 giftcards. They work perfectly with the Store to add funds.

I use mercadolivre and pay for the overpriced fuckers, having a international credit card don't help me because if I create an account with a brazilian adress, I can't access the store and if I create an account with a fake US adress, it won't match with the address of my credit card and I won't be able to use it.

So yeah, overpriced cards on mercadolivre, mano. =(

jett, are you rich (according to latin america's standards)? How could you even afford the previous prices.

If I still lived in South America, I would avoid console gaming like the plague with its exhorbitant prices, use a proxy and buy PC games on the cheap through DD.

Sent you a PM just in case.

JAJA yup thats what I did, it just popped in my head, don't know why it never ocurred to me before. Hopefully Costanza doesn't live here so he won't ruin that too :lol

deal with it...
even with every type of damn credit card i can think of i can't access japan store with out buying psn cards for japan region. they won't accept cards that's not listed with a japanese address.
samething happens with itune.
and if you try to buy something from china online, lol good game figuring that out.

this is just how world operates, deal.

I don't understand these kind of replies.

Entropay worked with PSN. Now it doesn't. People who were using Entropay before are now screwed. Why should they "deal with it"? It used to work, now it doesn't, that sucks, that's why a thread got made.

I can understand the frustration of non-US GAF, but there are a myriad of reasons why US entities cannot sell products overseas. Central and Latin America have many anti-consumer laws, the byproduct of an unholy alliance of trade unions, anti-Imperialist populists, and big business.

Yell at your politicians, not Sony/Amazon.

Can you buy from PSN using PayPal?

I can buy in a lot of web-shops (Amazon, NewEgg, etc) from my country (CR) without issues.
I do not have a PS3, so I do not know about their payment methods.

Stupid mod that changed the title is stupid.

Valid complaint man, you have my sympathy.

That's why we always ask for region free things here in LA, and Sony is king of screwing us in that sense; at least our Blu Ray region is the same as the usonians, but DVDs sucked (only Phillips and LGs DVDs are region free, and some chinese shit). Probably the reason I almost never buy Sony stuff =P.

They are just trying to sell those ridiculous expensive cards.

Just another non-US user with no other option than to pay overpriced PSN cards.
... and Sony doesn't have a store for us yet :lol

For the sake of everyone around me, that can't be allowed to happen. (And in all honesty it won't, back in the day a Sony representative told me that they had no problem with people opening accounts for all the international stores they wanted... or at least, that's what I remember/understood)

Can you guys buy stuff off the U.S Amazon site?

Yeah, no problem... in fact Amazon have some sort of partnership with some couriers that take care of the shipping from the US to our countries. (Amazing couriers by the way: $5 and 3-4 days for a game or anything similar)
Heck, I even use Amazon.co.jp from time to time.

I love Amazon...

Same reason why you hardly see region 4 DVD players in our stores, most of them are region 1 or multiregion (if they aren't the store employees would help you configure it to do the trick)

I love Blu Ray...

Just out of curiosity, if someone tried to buy a PSN game from here: Amazon's PSN store, would it still not allow them to?

Anybody knows? I'm just wondering cause I used to buy stuff with my Credit Card from the PSN store but I'm not allowed anymore (cause I live in the EU).

What's shitty for me is that there's no PSN store support for my country either and sometimes I want to get some games too.

You could always just make friends with someone in another country, and get the PSN cards for regular price (or a little bit over), and have them just email you the code...
