I imagine that Carrey was expecting WB/New Line to give this project the sort of attention a Batman or Harry Potter would have gotten seeing as the original was arguably the most 'beloved' Carrey film.

But realistically this was never going to be some major event movie given how much Carrey's stock has fallen recently.

I miss the good old Jim Carrey movies where he acts like a crazy idiot. It's been a while since he made such a movie. I think the last one i saw was Yes Man, but even that one wasn't as good as Bruce Almighty or Liar Liar.

Edit : I just checked Bruce Almighty wiki, and it mention that in january 2012, a REAL sequel of Bruce Almighty was announced with Jim Carrey. Good, it will be more interesting than the "sequel" we already got.
