Jim Carrey's New York Fashion Week Interview

Jim said it best during the interview: "This doesn't matter."

It doesn't. Why we even care what crazy shit he said during some interview at an event none of us really knew about...is beyond me.

He says that he's not against vaccinating, just some of the chemicals found in vaccines.

All anti-vaccinationists believe they are not anti-vaccinationists the same way all racists believe they are not racists.

"some chemicals" is just a dog-whistle they use. They can never scientifically explain what the problem is with 'the chemicals', and the chemical in question changes on a yearly basis.

Fine, whether he was right or wrong, I think it's important to realize that he had good intentions. I feel so bad for him.

I thought it was weird and funny.

But then again I personally think life is indeed inherently meaningless and free will mostly an illusion.

She opened with I heard your wondering the streets looking for a girlfriend after he's lost his girlfriend to suicide and instead of getting angry he remaind calm and kept it real, the people who are saying he needs help , are in a coma.

People here critiquing Jim for what he said and here I am feeling cathartic because someone finally spoke how I feel every day I wake up in today's world.

I think he was offended, his response seemed defensive. But he lately seems depressed, not that I know him personally but it's concerning as a huge fan of his. I'm not sure if he can find what he's looking for.

You know that people die, many of whom are very small children and infants, because of his "good intentions" that are based on nonsense. He and his "just asking questions" can get fucked.

Yes but he thought the vaccines themselves were doing harm so it didn't seem that way to him. Yes it was wrong but I still feel bad for how it affected him and his career. I hope he can make a good recovery.

Also for those of you who think he's seriously losing it, a lot of his recent paintings contain religious entities so he definitely doesn't believe life has no meaning. He's very religious. His paintings and what he thinks they mean also show that this isn't how he thinks.

he gave the appropriate level of consideration to the interview, haha. Dude looks kind of miserable though.

I feel like you can really say the same for gaming too.

But hey, why do we do this? Why do we dress up? Why watch cars race or athletes shoot balls into nets?

It's fun and passes time nicely without really hurting anyone.

...well, I mean, not for some sweatshop factories making the fashion. Hrm.

I do like that suit though.

the irony

Above it all cynicism kinda doesn't work when you get all dressed up and attend the event you say is meaningless. You just look like a stupid dickhead.

Well, he's kinda right you know. Needs less mumbo jumbo and more historical materialist analysis. But -- concerning the basic gist - he's right. (EDIT: ... in my historical materialist opinion ...)

Are you an actual college Marxist or just playing one on the internet
