Whats the difference between money hatting all the games from a publisher and buying them? I don't see a difference except one is cheap for dominant market leader. The other is a better value for the last place competitor. I have zero issues if the deal was stopped on the concession no more timed exclusive deals from major studios from sony. I would hope you sell more games having near 70% market share.
It was the great peter moore for starters but to go back 2 generations for an argument lol. Might as well go back to sony locking up the original tomb raider 4 generations ago lol. Let's not forget sony had an absolute lock on major 3rd party titles until Peter Moore did his magic to break that hold on 3rd party games.
Valid points, but I think XBOX gamers are part of the problem as well. I feel if XBOX gamers supported and purchased more games, I don’t think Sony would be able to get as many timed exclusives. Microsoft tried to procure timed exclusives like Yakuza: LAD, Octopath(?) and Rise of Tomb Raider as well. Yakuza sold a paltry 4500 or less units if I remember correctly and ROTR didn’t make money until it came to PlayStation later. I know Persona 5 is on Gamepass now, but I heard it only sold at a ratio of 4% on the Xbox or something like that.
When something like RE: Village or Mass Effect Collection has a ratio of 80/20 in favor of Sony, why is anyone surprised when certain games go timed or full exclusive to PlayStation? This has been going on for years also. Major games do come to XBOX, but the community usually doesn’t support them especially niche or Japanese games. Not saying timed exclusives are right, but things like that definitely don’t help.
Even if you moneyhat the game, at least there’s a chance it will show up on your console of choice. With an acquisition, they own that particular game, can do whatever they want with that game and you will probably never see it anywhere else because they essentially own it.
