I don't usually wish injury on anyone, but this might actually be a good thing for the WWE.
I wish injury on Cena and Vince all the time.
Used to wish injury on Triple H back in the early 2000s before my wish was answered and he tore that quad of his.

Certain people need to get hurt if they are smothering all life out of the product and it would be better off without them.

If they responded to feedback and acted in the best interests of the company instead of servicing their own selfish needs they wouldn't need to get hurt.
But alas, we're only human.

SELLING!

g]

World class seller.

Holy mother of IWC insanity.

The Cena hate here is laughable.
People are funny with their justifications for hating him, but really, his overexposure is ridiculous.

Cena's already been WWE champ more times than anyone in history, he hasn't evolved a single aspect of his character or added anything interesting to himself in years, and he's been in the main event longer than anyone else in the modern era. He's about to hit a DECADE of main eventing nearly every PPV. Austin, HHH, and Rock didn't have exclusive reigns this long. So it's easily understood why people would be in disbelief and be upset about this guy.

He was running around the ring and throwing people around, then magically tweaked it just in time to get speared.
If you're believing this bullshit the WWE is trying dishing out, then you probably believed McMahon died in the limo explosion back in 2007.

Exactly, he gets hurt at the exact perfect moment of the spear

It's still real to them damn it

Umm, didn't you see him limp-run to the ring? This shit it legit as it gets.

Nope but I did see him do 2 jumping shoulder barges, lift Roman Reigns clear in the air, slam him down, then jump right back up, bounce into a 5 knuckle shuffle, catch Rollins in midair, roll backwards, lifting Rollins clean up...

...and then after all that, he goes for the FU and suddenly his anKle tweaks, just at the point when Reigns is going for the spear he always used to finish a match.

That's what I saw.

I hate him. If he would sell or push others I'd be ok. But he never will.

Last I checked JR isn't dead and the wwe doesn't use him anymore as a commentator for raw and PPV

What the fuck is wrong with them

Vince hates him and hates the fans for adoring him.

Really? It's that far-fetched that people can get hurt when they're not actually fighting?

Forgive me, I wasn't clear. I was making two unconnected comments. I understand that he could hurt himself whilst play-fighting. I just don't understand the 'sport'.

I figure if your going to watch and get invested in fake fighting it should aleast look real.

That's called "selling"
This is Cena we're talking about. If he doesn't have a giant goofy gin on his face, he's not selling. He's actually hurt.

It looked his foot got caught at a bad angle while he was doing the backwards roll. He rolled up, basically lifted Rollins with one leg, then found his other couldn't support the FU when he started to torque.

Well the shelf life on the people that go the extra mile is a bit more limited...

And that's the tame stuff

The hell is with Cena's ass?

What's this picture of, I only see a downed wrestler and the crowd.

It's Chris Benoit, a man who was repeatedly pushed out the door to perform despite massive head injuries that likely (read: did) contribute to when he snapped and murdered his wife, child, and then himself.

No different than any other form of theater. It's all exaggerated and stupid as hell if you don't just let yourself get absorbed into it.

I'm not saying that they actually hit each other. Just atleast look like they're hitting each other. I can fake fight better than what I've seen on WWE.

It really takes you out of the moment when you see a guy openly help set up the other guy's attack. ("Oh let me put my arm around your shoulder so you can better lob me at the ground.") There must be better ways to look like you're fighting.

Well, you don't have to think too hard about these things to enjoy em. Eventually you don't notice these things at all, or how contrived certain spots are if the two in the ring are putting on a great match.

Even if he was hurt and couldn't wrestle they still find ways for him to main event EVERYTHING.

Think of a martial arts film. Is it realistic for them to not just knock each other out ASAP, but instead have a cool ten minute fight scene? No, but why let that bother you?

The point of a wrestling match is not to have some MMA brawl, it's to put on a good theatrical match, with drama, physical skill and storytelling. The quality varies, but that's the intention.

Yes but I can get invested in film fight because it looks real, or atleast they are better at selling that that they are being hit.

There is no drama in wrestling because its so over the top. Rarely have I watched a match and gone "Wow, look at that physical skill!" because quite frankly these guys just lumber about and clumsily grapple with each other.

I'll stop now because I have had this discussion before and both sides can't get the point.

Maybe we don't want it to look like a real sport. Maybe we do enjoy time to time seeing deformed midgets, old ladies giving birth to a hand and see what's it like to be a necrophiliac.

I, for one, don't exclusively play realistic video games.

Yes, I get that but isn't it trying to look real?
