John Wick DLC announced for Payday 2

I think it should also be mentioned that, if you buy a ticket to see John Wick on Fandango now through November 3rd, you get a free Steam code for Payday 2. For those that have been on the fence about getting the game, that's a good opportunity.

Sorry, forgot the Fandango part.

I've never heard about this. what was it gona be?

"We actually were going to do a downloadable L4D2 expansion pack, where you'd fight in the Cabin world, but then MGM went bankrupt so the delay squashed it," Goddard writes. "But the people at Valve were still cool enough to let us use some of their monsters to fill the cubes in the background (I had a lot of cubes to fill)."

"By the way – the game was gonna be amazing. You were gonna be able to play in both the upstairs Cabin in the Woods world and the downstairs "facility" world with all the monsters. Believe me, I HATE all video games based on movies, they always suck, but porting Cabin into Left For Dead felt like the right fit. It pains me that it didn't happen."

Off topic gaming related:

Looks like Keanu is taking a queue from Liam, that is middle aged(old) and out of the game forced back in the gane to kick ass, I love these movies.

Hopefully this is better than his last efforts; that is 47 Rohin, and that recently kung-fu/martial-art movie where he was the "villain"

On topic:
Is payday something worth looking into? It have never sparked my interest, and I haven't look into much because of it. I'm always into trying out some solid good actions games, if this is one of those.

The closest comparison is probably the Left4Dead series. If you like those you will probably feel right at home playing Payday.

I prefer the first one by a country mile but I seem to be alone in that opinion

So L4D with law-enforcing agency instead of zombies? Is it very coop-orientated; that is: is the single-player experience worth looking into?

Dual wielding pistols is really not worth it at all. Taking up a primary and still having zoom in on the right mouse button is dumb. Maybe they're good for pistol messiah focus builds but I'd still rather have a rifle primary.

They already did that in the 1st one

(And it was the worst heist in the game)

Heat Street the worst in the first game? Not a chance. Undercover or Slaughter House is way worse.

It's more like the finales in L4D maps than the rest of it where you're moving through levels. Payday 2 is especially about small areas where you defend a point while trying to complete objectives.

Also it is absolutely a multiplayer game, even moreso than L4D. Single player is the same heists, but with 2 AI teammates that do nothing but shoot enemies.

It is very co-op oriented. To the extent most would agree the game isn't worth playing solo. Just like L4D the single player is just the heists with bots instead of human team mates.

There are special uh, cops, just like the special infected in L4D. Tazer is the equivalent of the hunter or smoker, Bulldozer could be considered a kind of tank, and the Cloaker which will instantly down you if he gets into melee range.

No, game has horrible CPU AI. Also you should play with friends, otherwise you might get kicked for making small mistakes as a newbie (my first heist was like that)

Ok, thx for clarification.

Heat Streets Major problem (like all the other heists but esp. on Normal) is the damage rate/number of enemies for how long that heist lasts. If it was less enemies (or a few more enemies) and less damage it wouldn't be that bad. I can't recall Heat's highway shootout having the entire LAPD on their ass.

I'm guessing not in Canada? =(
