While I won my championships on ultra-performance PCs, I still go to Nintendo for fun and relaxation, playing with the same passion and sense of joy I remember as a kid on that original Nintendo console. This year I've become addicted to Wii, which lets me replicate the challenge of the physical sports I've played my entire life, such as tennis, bowling and golf. I bought all my business partners Wiis for Christmas. I even play Wii with my grandma. (Her favorite is Wii bowling.)

This was written by marketing as pointed out earlier. Ultra-performance PC's? Same passion and sense of joy? Lets me replicate the challenge of physical sports?

I don't know Wendel personally. But he's been involved with pc hardware manufacturers for years now through sponsorships and what have you. I'm fairly confident he wouldn't use the term "ultra-performance PCs". You wouldn't. So why would he?

Fatal1ty was indeed the best Q3 player in the world for about 2 or so years during its earlier days, then the likes of Zero4 and czm threw their names into that mix, as well as a couple of European players. But fatal1ty was definitely very dominant at one point. His popularity is almost solely due to his achievements in Quake 3, as well, not the other games he played.

I do not think this guy is even known outside of USA (or South Korea)
Miyamoto has been even knighted by the French Government

Any statement coming from him comparing himself with Miyamoto (even to a smaller degree) is a recursive oxymoron.

We had this topic a while back and some GAFfers went and messed up his wikipedia page. I remember they put some ultra-douche picture in place of Wendel's picture. I wouldn't mind it happening again :lol

also i fail to see what's wrong with his appearance. he looks like an average person and not a fat neckbeard, which you guys would have made fun of too.

about the headphones bit, it is a stupid quote, but you guys can't deny the selling power of aesthetics. Why do you think the Skullcandy headphones are popular? the fact is, headphones are one PC accessory people will see you wearing in public, so of course fashionable people will want fashionable headphones. ffs.

The problem with Fatal1ty is that everything about his image is groomed by marketers who don't really know much about gamers. They've taken Wendel and created a perverted, bizarro reflection of ourselves and it's hideous to look at.

I also want to see those wiki edits. I remember that they were legendary.

When buying peripherals, I refuse to buy anything with his name on it. I don't want to feed the insanity. Nothing personal against him as a human being, just this branding stuff.
 
I saw him in person at E For All the first year they had it. He was taking on all challengers in Q4 I think, and if you could frag him once you'd win a prize.

My first thought when I saw it was that of an old time Circus Freak Sideshow. Arm Wrestle the lizardman and win a prize or something. He looked so pathetic and sad up their on the stage that I almost felt sorry for him.

Then I remembered he was a twat.

I got a shitty free tshirt though for stopping by! I think it is buried in my closet somewhere, I'm saving it for the day I have to paint my house or something.

also, i think iwata should be in the top 100 instead of miyamoto. turning the company from 3rd place laughingstock to #1 juggernaut and releasing 2 consoles that are breaking all-time sales records has to amount to something.
