Joss Whedon's Dollhouse-The Official Thread

God I cannot wait for this to start airing. This and Fringe are all I look forward to till Lost next year. I got quite a few people into Dollhouse too who plan on watching the second season so hopefully ratings go up.

Can Bones be cancelled already so that David Boreneaz can join the cast of Dollhouse as an outsider wanting to bring Dollhouse down? Make him a rogue FBI agent if you must, so his transition from one show to the next will be seamless.

Thanks!

what? sierra is fucking hot
imo the hottest girl in Dollhouse

I think it's time all of you late-comers to this thread now have to face the un-seeable:

His review is now live on AICN.

TV critics got their DOLLHOUSE 2.1 screeners today (wrapped in a lovely burgundy t-shirt and a note from Joss Whedon).

Titled “Vow,” the episode is superb: funny, suspenseful, sexy and willing to kick around more than a few Very Big Ideas. Combined with the series’ terrific “lost” episode (“Epitaph One”), “Vow” roughly triples my investment in this series’ fate. Which is to say, its eventual cancellation will be three times harder to bear now than the day before I saw “Epitaph One.”

First of all, GOD YES SUMMER!!

Secondly, Sierra is the hottest active on the show. I think she's beautiful - and no, the damn fox pic will not deter me.

Third: I'm really looking forward to this season. Seems like a lot of energy mounting.

Official Fox Press Release for "Vows"

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25

**SEASON PREMIERE**"DOLLHOUSE"(9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) CC-HDTV 720p-Dolby Digital 5.1

ECHO WEDS A MYSTERIOUS STRANGER AND ADELLE MAKES A DEAL WITH AGENT BALLARD ON THE SEASON PREMIERE OF "DOLLHOUSE" FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, ON FOX

Episode Written and Directed by Series Creator Joss Whedon

Jamie Bamber ("Battlestar Galactica") Guest-Stars

Picking up a few months after the first season finale, Echo, who now sporadically remembers past "imprints" due to Alpha's machinations, weds a wealthy and charismatic British businessmen tied to one of Agent Ballard's open FBI cases. Dr. Saunders struggles with being an Active and makes Topher the target of her aggression, and Boyd mixes business with pleasure in a risky venture. Meanwhile, Adelle makes Ballard an offer he can't refuse in "Vows," the season premiere episode of DOLLHOUSE airing Friday, Sept. 25 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (DOL-201) (TV-14 D, L, S, V)

Cast: Eliza Dushku as Echo; Tahmoh Penikett as Paul Ballard; Olivia Williams as Adelle DeWitt; Harry Lennix as Boyd Langton; Fran Kranz as Topher Brink; Enver Gjokaj as Victor; Dichen Lachman as Sierra

Guest Cast: Amy Acker as Dr. Claire Saunders/Whiskey; Liza Lapira as Ivy; Jamie Bamber as Martin Klar; Alexis Denisof as Senator Daniel Perrin; Zoran Radanovich as Hugo Taubman

More positive impressions of the first episode

But in the first episode, it looks like they're fixing that absence of a Scooby gang contingent.

"Vows" is definitely an ensemble effort. Echo doesn't account for most of the screen time, in fact it's actually Topher and Dr. Claire Saunders (they have a strange new dynamic) who get the larger storylines. (Yes, Amy Acker is in the first episode.)

Official thread will go up late next week sometime.

Nope. September 25th. Get pumped.
No shit? I don't get why I haven't noticed it in the "fall preview" articles.

Too bad it is only 12 or 13 episodes again, but hopefully this season will do well enough to get a longer run next year. Fox has been unable to renew my faith after Firefly was canned.

Is it still in the "timeslot of death" (friday)?

I wanted to buy the BR but apparently the PQ sucks :(

I think there were 13 episodes ordered already, noone said there won't be more.

13 episodes have been ordered with a back 9 following if the ratings are good enough for FOX.

I know it's been posted twice already but incase you want to use it for the season 2 thread Ivy, the sneak preview clip of the premiere in very good, non-laggy quality. :)

I don't want to sound too hopeful considering this is Fox, but I am sort of expecting the back 9 to follow. I don't think they will want to can it and replace it with a new show because that will cost too much money...especially since Glee is so expensive to make per episode.

You had faith in Fox before canning Firefly? What Jayne thinks about that.

The Picture Quality on the Bluray is awesome. Looks just as good as the HD broadcast to me, if not a bit cleaner.

I just watched 'Man on the Street' for the first time since it aired earlier this year.

Man. That has to be one of the most perfect hours of television I've ever seen in my life. Everything, every scene added up to twist, complicate and shed new light on practically every character and plot element in the Dollhouse universe. Crafted perfectly. /thumbsup

The episode even plays with a bunch of TV plot and stylistic tropes to fuck with you before twisting things around. What a great hour.

wait, this show is good? I wrote it off after seeing commercials for the first episode, but I do love me some Joss Whedon. If I'm looking for more Firefly or Dr. Horrible, can it be found here?
