JRPG Omega Labyrinth Z first game banned in the UK since Manhunt 2.

I just saw this story.

Japanese anime game Omega Labyrinth Z has been banned from sale in the UK, with watchdogs warning that it “clearly promotes the sexualisation of children".
The Video Standards Council (VSC) says the PlayStation 4 title allows players to “sexually arouse the female characters by touching their intimate areas” and “to fondle the girls’ breasts”.
The game has also been refused classification in Australia and Germany, but it is expected to launch in the US for players aged 17 or older. According to Kotaku, it is the first gaming title to be banned in the UK since 2008, when the Rockstar’s Manhunt 2, where players take control of a serial killer, was prohibited from sale.

Fire a loli from a canon at me if old.

If it quacks like a duck. Maybe for once the game does, undoubtedly, portray children this way.
Terrible as that is, at least it'd put a dent into the arguments of internet conspiracy theorists who incessantly cry foul over censorship.

Getting upset over 99% of censorship is different than when it comes to child pornography. Even amgonst the biggest detractors of government censorship, you would be hard pressed to find many who think child porn is acceptable.

This being banned is a good thing. But that, in no way, suggests censorship in general is a good thing.

Well according to the article this is done because some characters look underage, could be a Marie Rose situation, I tried finding info on the characters actual ages but couldn't.

Although I would be down for banning the existence of Marie Rose.........

Ok, I should be clear IF this is strongly suggesting child pornography, in any way, it should be banned. If it's just highly inappropriate, but legal, depictions, then that may be different. I honestly don't know enough to say what it is, and honestly have no interest in the game regardless.

However, I know some forms of media, especially from Japan, use loopholes to feed this urge to portray underage girls in sexual manners. Calling characters 30 year-old "monsters" that just happen to look like 12 year-old school girls, does not make it okay, for example.

Game companies worried about this should try to hire fewer employees interested in creating such things. Avoiding controversy at the source.
Devs still intent on it can spend their own money to start up a studio.

There's already a thread about this. News of the UK banning was posted there several days ago.

Also the game isn't pornographic. There's not even nudity in the title. It's basically akin to titles like Criminal Girls. The characters aren't real, so I see no good reason for its banning. To me this is limiting to artistic expression and also babies consumers. The VSC's arguments especially seem to be this way since they stated that they were worried about this games effects on impressionable youth. The game is aimed at adults, not children.

I also fear this games banning may discourage Pqube from localizing titles like Bullet Girls, which would really be unfortunate. The Bullet Girls games look like the most fun of D3 Publisher's library
