JRPGs on the Xbox 360 - What's left to play?

So I bought my Xbox 360 back in the days mostly for the exclusive JRPGs on the system, but besides Lost Odyssey, which I love, I never played any of the other games.

There are Eternal Sonata, Magna Carta 2, Tales of Vesperia, Enchanted Arms or Infinite Discovery. Tales of Vesperia is probably the best out of them but I'm not exactly in the mood for a Tales game and want to try something new.

I played some SMT games on the PS2 before and they were fantastic, but I don't mind some midtier games now. So which one would you recommend?

I thought Blue Dragon might be a good idea but the framerate and the tearing is not really appealing. I'm hoping now it will get BC access to the XO to eliminate the tearing atleast. As far as I remember it was hinted (with Lost Odyssey) to appear on that list in the near future so maybe I should wait a bit.

Give MagnaCarta 2 a spin. I was pleasantly surprised with the game when I picked it up. Combat gameplay is really good.

I came to say Manga Carta 2 but if you have that you may have actually gotten all the console-exclusive JRPG's on 360.

Also a PS3 version of Eternal Sonata with more content was released.

Eternal Sonata I thought was a really good game, you just need to endure some of the total bollocks the characters speak in some of the cutscenes. The other ones you mentioned are pretty average

Eternal Sonata, Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia and Resonance of Fate are generally the only good JRPG's the 360 has. Infinite Undiscovery and Star Ocean 4 are 50/50

Best jrpg on 360 after Lost Odyssey is Tales of Vesperia.

I've played Magna Carta 2, Infinite Undiscovery, Blue Dragon, Last Remnant, but honestly all are just mediocre and boring.

Resonance of Fate is good, though I played it on ps3.

There's also Eternal Sonata, Enchanted Arms and Star Ocean, but i haven't played them yet.

Or Final Fantasy 13.......

Best exclusive Xbox 360 JRPG is Blue Dragon on Hard mode. Yeah, the story & characters are mediocre at best, but the job system is too fun, the combat is well designed, and the music is great.

Lost Odyssey is the only 360 JRPG I'm missing. Haven't played it, either.

Need to buy it before it become BC and the price shoots WAYYYYYY up.

I'm surprised at how many of these there are, looking back. Definitely not as strong as the 360's Japanese action game library, but still.

I played Last Remnant on the PC, so I did not mention it. It was quite a ride but I liked it.

I also have Star Ocean 4 on the PS3, so I left it out aswell.

RoF seems really promising.

Eternal Sonata is fantastic, definitely give that one a go.

I thought Infinite Undiscovery was alright too but the first part of the game is a bit of a slog.

Last Remnant is also worth playing in my opinion.

I enjoyed most of the JRPGs on the 360. Except Eternal Sonata. Beautiful, but bored me to tears.

Magna Carta is a hidden gem, and I quite enjoyed Infinite Undiscovery. Had a lot of neat elements, should have cooked a little longer.

Anyways, it's about time MS show us some bc love.

Star Ocean IV: The Last Hope

My first and last star ocean game I played. All I remember is I had a blast with the gameplay, that's where that game shined. Awesome combat.

You should definitely play Blue Dragon. It's my favorite game on the system.
Fortunately, it is confirmed for Xbox One BC, but there's no guarantee it'll perform better unfortunately.

I know you said you weren't in the mood for a Takes game, but Vesperia is the best modern Tales game. It hasn't been topped since.

It would help to get rid of the tearing. This is a huge no go for me. Luckily XO BC eliminates that. But better performance would be a nice bonus aswell.

That song is the reason I ended up buying it, lol.

Along with Blue Dragon, I'd recommend Eternal Sonata, for some reason I have a soft spot for that game.

I just heard the blue dragon boss theme. lmao. Im defo buying a copy of this for XB1 BC soon. thanks.

Nah, only for the 360. On PS3 there is also Atelier, Disgaea, Trails in the Sky, Valkyria Chronicles, Ni no Kuni and Persona 5 (soon).
Trails of Cold Steel actually, with the sequel out at the beginning of next month. Considered that much better than any given JRPG I've played on HD systems. Would need to go with PC for Trails in the Sky (will be the only place to get all three of those, because the third one won't be available for Vita through a PSP localization).

Since OP has a PS3 as well, it's really better to focus on that instead of 360 if it's JRPGs they're looking for. Things like Resonance of Fate can also be picked up on PS3 instead. Would recommend Atelier Escha & Logy specifically, since Atelier was brought up.
